Well recently I've been getting ants in my house. I didn't have any bugspray on hand so I just vacumed them up with my shop vac, ha! I then went and bought some, but I am reluctant to use it, worrying about Zero! Is this a concern I should be worried about? Is there a safe way to use it so he can't get sick?

I would call the 800 number that is usually listed on the bottle and ask them. I have fly spray I use for my horses and I called the company and asked if it was safe to use around cats and they said absolutely not. I believe it is Pyrethrin (perhaps Permethrin, I don't remember) that cats react adversely to. In fact the product rep told me it would cause trembling, seizures, and possibly death! Yikes!

Yeah, I'll have to try and remember to do that... does anyone know of any ant spray that is safe to use around cats?

I've always been afraid to use any pesticides around the cats.

You can try diatomaceous earth (found in garden supply shops - get the organic kind, not the pool use kind). Sprinkle it in the cracks where the ants seem to be coming from. It kills insects mechanically, damaging their exoskeletons so they die - no poison to make your cat or yourself ill.
