Proper procedures for cat litter

OK I use fresh step cat litter...Here lately My cat's box has been smelling really bad. What is the best way to keep the smell down?

I have been using one for over a year now. It works great. I have one in my bathroom as well because we have such problem with mold- we don't have that problem anymore.

Thanks for this link!!! Once I'm done with my classes I'm going to be building a litter box holder for my LitterMaids and I've been trying to figure out how to minimize smell and optimize air flow through the box so the litter dries faster. This would be a great addition to the plan!!!
