I was going through http://www.ratemykitten.com and came across an ADORABLE kitten...black and white...like cow prints! What kind of cat is it? I wish I had saved the pic, to show you...but, I only made it my background picture

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a typical black and white DSH to me.
Lots of them around, I would bet if you visited your animal shelter to adopt one, you would find at least 3 or 4 sitting in cages waiting for a home.

Hissy, what does DSH stand for?
I'm guessing ? Short Hair.

That is odd, a black blaze on a white face, with a black spot on a white chest; very, very different than the usual Holstein cat pattern.

I have two of those and they are GORGEOUS in my eyes. I agree with MA (Hissy)- it should be easy to find more of this kind if you're interested. Some people also calls this the "Moo" cats (Wonder why!)

It is ADORABLE
His markings do look unique

The cat on the first link looked like a tuxedo cat, but the second link posted had markings like a cow

Here's my moo-cow kitty (pixelPuff Angelbaby Thor Buttercup Bubblespot! How could you forget *that*??? Heheh
):

There are many more pics of her here, including what she looked like as a kitten:
http://www.flyingtigerwebdesign.com/...res/index.html

I have no idea what kind of cat she was, as she was found in a parking lot. She was a semi-long haired cat, though her fur lay very very close. She had fur nearly as soft as my Pookie, who is a Turkish Van mix. She had a personality like no other cat I've ever known, was extremely vocal, and seemed to have her own language. When she wanted a snack, she would meow specific vocalization that she never used at any other time. If I wanted to give her a snack, I mimmicked the meow and she went running to where I put the snacks. She also used her teeth like hands. She carried anything she could get her mouth on, including heavy things like dolls and large stuffed animals, the remote control and full bottles of water. Even pillows. She was brilliant at inventing games, like kitchen bag racing: she put her front paws on a plastic grocery bag and ran with her back legs and slid across the kitchen floor till she hit the wall...then turn around and do the same thing to the other side
She also made nests and played hockey in the bathtub with everything she could pick up and put in there.

Very unique kitty...and I miss her terribly
She escaped last December and 2 days before Xmas I was out putting up more posters and discovered her in the street in front of the vet's office (next door to my apt. complex). She'd been missing nearly 2 weeks and had obviously just been killed a few hours before I found her. I was wrecked. Even now, I'm crying just at the thought of how I found her and how very short her life was (about 9 months) and how I'll never know another kitty like her. Dang, I love that kitty-kow

Sorry...got off track there.

Doesn't look shorthaired. Probably semi-long like my pixel. It might be just an anomoly/weird van print on an otherwise "mutt" cat. Who knows? It is so young that it's difficult to make out distinct breed-specific traits.

I'd bet that kitty is just a Bicolor Domestic Shorthair (two-tone alleycat) like my furbabies. My Tuxedo kitties Sylvestra & Mr. had a littermate that looked a lot like that kitten - a white base with black spots. I gave him to a lady firefighter - she loved him b/c he looked sort of like a dalmatian kitty.
The other 2 littermates were beautiful solid black - one with very short hair, and one with medium hair.

The best way to find a kitten like that if you're looking for one is to check the shelters.

BTW, Pixelpuff etc. is gorgeous!

I am not sure which cat we are talking about all of the time. I think the second cat is so pretty, she can come and live with me any day.
Two of my cats are DSH tuxedos. I got one from the dogs home.
