It is raining here a lot in the past couple of weeks and we sure need it . I just come in from the cat enclosure , the spare room my husband made for us humans
. I enjoy sitting in the morning there to wake up with a cup of coffee and in the evening to relaxed
. Well it was raining and I was to listen to all the sounds nature has given to us . I was listening to the rain how it come down on the roof and look around to see how wonderful green the grass looks when it rains
Then I listen some more and I herd some wonderful notices some song birds singing , aaaawww how sweet the sound . It was just perfect
What a wonderful evening I had , watching the cats in the cat enclosure play and relaxed , listen to the rain and what a joy it was listen to the song birds .
So what do you like about rain

I love to feel the rain on my face, and to smell the freshness of the grass, to see the drops on a flower and hear the birds sing their thank yous.

Rain (not the monsoon type) makes such a comforting sound. I feel sleepy just by listening at the water drops cascading down on roofs of houses and on plants and trees. It also brings in a cool breeze which is a blessing living in the tropics.

I like the rain during the night, makes me fall asleep. I don't like it during the day, makes me feel sad, I have a depression problem

It rains down here everyday, every afternoon and it stops at 5:00 - 6:00pm.

I loved it when I was a kid, playing with the water

It's wet! Sorry couldn't resist!

Seriously though, on a hot, hot summer in the city day nothing feels better than cool rain on you face. And I love thunder and lightening storms...my hero Beethoven loved them as well. Listen to the 6th symphony. Supposedly on his death bed, a freakish March thunder and lightening storm hit Vienna. Ludwig could see the lightening but not hear the thunder due to his deafness. He made a fist, shook it to curse the heavens and then supposedly died. I love that story, true or not.
I've always heard that Germans have a special affinity for thunder and lightening, or donner and blizten...is that true Hedi???

I've always enjoyed the rain.
I used to love to listen to it at night, but now with my air purifier running every night I can't hear it!!
I do enjoy the rain though, and love to go out shopping on those days. I like light rain though, not real heavy. I love the strong storms too in the hot summer time.

I, too, LOVE hearing the rain at night! It's so soothing and relaxing. I wish that every day would be sunny and that it would rain every night.

(Of course, then we would never see stars, so that's no good. Maybe if it would start later, so that we would have plenty of star-gazing time...maybe the rain could start at 11:00 or so.)

I love the smell of rain, I can smell it before it comes and I just love to just inhale and take it in.

I love the fact that rain nurtures life, just like the sun.

The smell....so pure and cleansing. I love the rain. Day or night, I love it! The only time I don't appreciate it is in the winter months and it's raining in the mountains...SNOW! I want SNOW in the mountains so I can snowboard! But other than that, the way it nourishes not only the earth but my soul, it calms me, it reinvigorates me. Not to mention the lovely romantic evenings it may set up for you (good call Purrfect cat love!
). I guess it's good that I welcome it with open arms, living in Washington state and all!

I love it when it rains. I live in SoCal and its pretty rare.

I love the sound. The smell. The cool temperatures that usually goes with it. But, mostly I like to sit and watch it come down...listen to it hit the ground...if there is thunder, thats even better. Makes me wanna curl up in a big fat comforter in front of an open window and just relax and watch it.

Ahhhhhhhhh....darnit, and this is the just the beginning of SUMMER!

I like to be in a car when it rains, to hear the windshield wipers, to watch the rivulets of water slide on the windows, and to hear the pounding on the roof. It's cosy somehow. (If it's not raining too hard!) And riding through a rainbow after the storm is so cool.

I also love to lie in bed and listen to a good thunderstorm while I read a book. That's the best time, especially if you can be lazy and stay there.

Living in southern Calif I surely do miss a good rain storm, I just like the sound of the rain and sometimes to hear thunder, don`t get much thunder here. I use to live in Omaha Ne and we had plenty of good rains. Basically it only rains here in the winter, our wettest is usually in Jan, and it can really dump! But here in the spring time we will never see rain. But in answer to your question, I just like the sound of it, and the smell of it. Linda

Hey, Huggles.
PurrfectCatLove started the thread. I'm so glad you all got rain! Now, just as long as PurrfectCatLove doesn't start a thread about what we like about tornadoes, the magic can continue.
