just kidding, the kitty is seriously cuter.
today i adopted and brought home my first kitten, an adorable blue-eyed baby with beige coloring that darkens on her ears and tail.
so far, she's adjusting to my apartment, and i'm introducing her room by room (2 down, 3 to go). she's really shy and hides under the furniture most of the time.
right now, i'm only having a few tiny problems, and most of them are really just that i worry too much.
i could use a little help with the name. i can tell she's going to be really pretty when she grows up, so i'm trying not to name her anything cutesy (which is hard, cause she's really cute).
right now, the front runners are:
Bailey (she's the same color as the liquor, and even sweeter)
Apple (i'm a macintosh user for life)
Pixie (my favorite band is the Pixies, and she does look magical)
Pinkerton (pinker for short)
any suggestions?

WELCOME TO TCS

I like the name Bailey - but its hard to know without seeing what she looks like.... and as mentioned before me often then name themselves...

We had a hard time naming Cedar - I think he was un-named for a week - and kept getting called the little fella -

good luck with choosing a name - and congrats on your new addition - we love pictures here if you can post some

Hope you have fun here. We have a thread somewhere listing all our cat's names, but I don't know how to link you to it. Someone else will probably come along who will know how to.

Congats on your new baby! I also have to throw in a vote for Bailey if she's the color of Irish Creme, but we'd love to see her first

You could also name her Macintosh and call her Tosha

She sounds like a pointed cat of some sort (Siamese, Balinese, Birman, Himalayan, etc). Is her hair short or long?

Welcome to the site! I think one of the hardest things about getting a new kitten is finding the perfect name for them.
I know it definitely took us a while! Trent was actually named on the way to the vet for his first checkup!

she's got short hair, and is finally coming out of her kitty condo sometimes on her own.
i want to pet her all the time but i'm afraid to spoil her!

Ok, now you ARE being a sillymonkey!!
Don't you know that cats were created for spoiling?? Sheesh! I thought that everyone knew that
Cats, like everyone, need discipline, but not at the expense of love and affection. When they are naughty, they need to know it (quick short blow of breath in the face usually does the trick, but only at the time of the offense - not after when the cat doesn't know what it has done). But when he/she is not being naughty, spoil it rotten!!
The more you pet her and snuggle her the happier both of you will be when she grows up. If you don't do it now, she'll not like it when she gets older. And who wants a kitty that can't be cuddled? Just make sure the kitty always has an escape route to a safe place, and all will be well. But also be sure the kitty knows that YOU are the safe place! Handle her all that you can, I say.
