Anne and I are working on a new website for a client. We would like to know from you which design you like better- look only at the design, not the content and let us know?

I think I may be missing something. The only difference I see between the two is a very small guinea pig.

You aren't missing anything, just wondering which design guides your eye better? The one with white space on the right, or the one with the guinea pig on the right?

Gotcha! White space. Definitely white space. The collage of animals on the left is very nice, but the guinea pig on the right and slightly above them detracts from them. It also detracts the eye from the Pet City name, which in the first example (sans pig) is in its own space and very prominent. Pig looks kind of out of place out there on its own.

Nice design!

I like the one with the guinea pig, because it feel it keeps your eyes central to the name, whereas the other one moves your gaze away from the name onto the group of animals, and you miss more if your eyes are not first directed to the centre.

The page with the guinea pig seems to make the page appear more centered to my tired eyes.

Hmmm....I'd like it with the guinea pig if he were flipped to turn towards the lettering.
Otherwise I'd say go without him, because he seems a bit distracting, pointing away from the lettering.

I prefer the one with the guinea pig...I like how it draws the eye, it nicely completes that top banner/section.

I like the one with the little guinea pig better , but if it would be me I may get one more animal there like a bird or something . The little guy kind of looks lonely to me

With the guinea pig... although I do like the idea of having the guinea pig facing left towards the heading as well.

I think I'd turn the guinea pig, too. The page looks more balanced with the guinea pig.

I think that it would look too cutesy, not a good thing!

I think this is funny, because someone on another board was just asking for suggestions about litter box odour in her new condo, and I referred her to the site, and her comment was, looks like a great product, even though the website is a nightmare!

I like the white space better than the guinea pig. The guinea pig is so small and he is just kind of off by himself over there.
Sounds like I am worried for his safety
But I think you know what I mean.

If you do go with the guinea pig, I agree tat he needs to be facing the other way on the page.

I also think it's more balanced with the guinea pig. Actually, I think both ways work, but it's nice to have balance.
