I came across this post when I was doing a search for something:

I was wondering MA, since everything came out ok in the end, can you look back at this and laugh even though you were mad at the time? I hope so, because I was almost in tears reading it. It sounded like a chain reaction of misfortune.

Tanya-

I remember that night (mare) well! What was that man thinking? The search for the parrot was more extensive than anything I have ever seen. Mike whispered in my ear that night that he expected Unsolved Mysteries to call at any moment! LOL

I can laugh about it now, but back then I was so scared for my kitty in the tree and the ones hiding under the house.

I don't use that hay guy anymore. That cured me, no matter how good his hay was! What I forgot to say that night when I was posting, when he scaled up our tree the parrot kept moving out of his reach. He almost fell out of the tree trying to get her-

I can't imagine what you were looking for that brought THAT post up! LOL

I was searching for the yellow flie post to check on Heidi's yellow fly bite yesterday and up popped your post
I thought long and hard before asking about it, I didn't want to bring up a bad memory, but I just had to ask
I bet you were terrified about the kitty in the tree, but I am so glad you got him down safely, and no one was hurt.

Mixed feelings about things in the past. About three years ago my dog, Blackie, was still alive and we had a cat called Hercules. One Sunday everything happened all at once. We had my late husband's niece staying with us and her estranged Dad knocked on the door, with his motor bike still revving outside the door and Hercules shot up the stairs in terror, Blackie shot through the door (he wasn't allowed out of course by himself) and a salesman arrived at that exact moment asking me if I had seen his glasses. I had never even seen him before, he kept on going on about his glasses, the girl we had staying with us was yelling at the top of her voice at her dad, the motor bike was still revving, Hercules was shaking like a leaf at the top of the stairs and my poor dog was missing, this man wanted me to help him look for his glasses. I grabbed hold of the dog's leash and went running up the street (not a pretty sight) and found Blackie in the middle of the main road, doing his business, with cars speeding past him on both sides. It was lucky he stopped to do his 'thing'. I put his lead on, went home, got daughter and father to make up and went upstairs to comfort Hercules. I wasn't happy But whenever I think about it now, even the following day

Hahaha sorry hissy, but reading that made me laugh! It was the light of my day.
Parrots (and any large birds) are my second love. If I could ensure that Miikka wouldnt eat a bird (or vice versa) I would get a macaw, a grey or a conure.
The guy shouldnt have been that careless with his animals though...

LOL! Some people in this world have no common sense. Maybe the guy learned his lesson after that.

I missed that story the first time round - talk about a "Murphy's law" day!
I would've been burning.
