Hi There,
I'm writing about my concern for Simba. He is a couple of weeks shy of 1 year. All his teeth but one incisor (the bigger, longer teeth) on the left bottom hasn't grown in! I brush his teeth a couple of times a week and I don't see any irritation or swelling in that area. My vet says that it might never grow in and that's ok as long as it's not impacted and causing Simba trouble. Is this the case? Should I get it looked at to be sure? I'm just worried that he perhaps can't chew his food properly and maybe will have problems digesting down the road. Has anyone else experienced this and did the tooth ever grow in?

Thanks for all response!

well I've never had experience with teeth not growing in, I've known a few cats who have lost most of their teeth and still like to munch away on kibble (if they at least have some molars) or are happy to gum away on canned food. One cat who couldn't chew at all (tumour in jaw that caused pain) happily licked up kitty food soup. So don't worry about your baby being able to eat

Nevertheless, if you're really worried, it might be wortht the peace of mind just to have a vet look at the mouth. Even if your vet said that it shouldn't be a problem, I'm sure they'd understand you wanting to be extra sure.
