I'm trying to help someone in Las Vegas...any ideas are appreciated:

Please, if anyone can help. I have to find homes, either permanent or foster for about 20 cats within the next 7 days. Someone in my neighborhood complained because I rescue and foster cats. I have calls out to all my friends, family, and the rescue groups here in town and on the web. I am willing to pay for part or all costs of tranportation to anywhere in the US.

I have mostly adult cats, domestic, long, short haired. Many black, some orange, a meezer, two white w/black spots. All but three males are spayed or neutered. I will make sure they are UTD on shots and have a health certificate before they are shipped.

Please HELP!!!

Karen

OMG Karen. I can't help I'm in the UK. If I was over there I would be working with you to find these cats homes. I feel so helpless all I can do is send you good vibes and prayers, which are on their way to you now.

This has to be LasVegas Munciple Code, nothing on the state books defines a maximum number of animals.

Why doesn't she just incorporate with the state/city...she should then be able to exempt herself from the population limit.

Not sure on the details, but I've never seen much problems with this either. Especially in the Vegas area.

I am so sorry to hear this! Have you considered fighting this in court? I know that a number of court cases have been won regarding this situation. If your animals are all well cared for, and present no health risks, most courts will overrule an area's pet limit laws. You could also try to force your local pet limit laws to be changed. Pet limit laws are the result of well meaning people making a big mistake.

I wish you the best in fighting this, or in finding homes for your babies. Please let us know what happens.
