Some of the artists from the '60s are revising their hits with new
lyrics to accommodate us aging baby boomers. This is good news for "
those feeling a little older " and missing those great old tunes .

Herman's Hermits
"MRS. BROWN, YOU'VE GOT A LOVELY WALKER"

The Bee Gees
"HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HIP"

Bobby Darin
"SPLISH, SPLASH, I WAS HAVIN' A FLASH"

Ringo Starr
"I GET BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM DEPENDS"

Roberta Flack
"THE FIRST TIME EVER I FORGOT YOUR FACE"

Johnny Nash
"I CAN'T SEE CLEARLY NOW"

Paul Simon
"FIFTY WAYS TO LOSE YOUR LIVER"

Commodores
"ONCE, TWICE, THREE TIMES TO THE BATHROOM"

Marvin Gaye
"I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPE NUTS"

Procol Harem
"A WHITER SHADE OF HAIR"

Leo Sayer
"YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE NAPPING"

The Temptations
"PAPA'S GOT A KIDNEY STONE"

ABBA
"DENTURE QUEEN"

LOL!!!! Funny!!!

I'm a nursing home employee, and some of those titles made me immediately start thinking about WORK!!!!!!
Does that mean I've been working there waaaaay too long? LOL!!!!!!
Maybe I just need a vacation?

G&G,

You really threatened my health with that one. Not only did each of the original songs have meaning to me, but your permutations seemed to define me. I am too old and feeble to laugh as hard as I did when I read them.

Thank you for the nostalgia trip. Ann is still chuckling.

Cheers,

Jim

Actually Jim our oldest Daughter sent those to me. Now you don't think she was giving her dear old dad a bad time now do you?

It's scary when you can actually remember the 60s. I used to have most of those old songs.

I work at two Private Care Homes (like nursing homes but not for people who are bad enough to need a nursing home but need 24 hour care.) and the titles made me think of work too.
Gee.... I wonder if this means I need a vacation too???

I can still play all of them.

I have a Pioneer 8 track player that still works (but why bother?).

A Garrard turntable that still plays the LP's.

I still have a Sansui Reel to Reel. Collectors items now. The original LP collection is about 2500 albums which I'll still be trying to copy 2 weeks after I'm dead in about 25 years.
