Well, I'm planning on writting a midterm today, so of course I am practicing some hard core procrastination.
This site came to my attention yesterday - what timing! And I've been poking around a bit today... figured I may as wlel join up and introduce myself
My name is Maggie, and I like happily with my 3 boys Fluff (almost 12, dlh), Charlie (newly turned 8, dsh) and my 3/4 cat, Tristan (almost 14 months, dsh)
You can see pictures of them here:

A little history about us:
Fluff I got as a kitten from a friend of our neighbour's when we gave up on my cat Explorer ever coming home. I got Fluff and his sister, Ginga, but Ginga was lost
Fluff has become steadily more neurotic, skittish, and whimpy in his middle age - but he's my love muffin
He's a big boy, and nice and healthy (thank goodness!) except for occasional teeth cleanings.
Charlie was a stray that took up residence on my grade 8 English teacher's balcony. She already had 2 cats and didn't want any more, so offered Charlie up to the class. I worked hard to get my mum to let me have him
He had a very bad URTI and so was fostered at my teacher's neighbour...but was too rambuctious for her, so then my gym teacher took him, and then my gym teacher wanted to keep him
But then 3 weeks later she decided he was too playful after all!! So he came back to me
Him and Fluff did not get along at all...and it wasa number of years before the could even be on opposite sides of my beds... but they're pretty okay with each other now
Charlie is my sick baby, and has had a variety of health issues and is now blad on his tummy and hind legs....btu at the moment he's pretty good
Tristan, my newest baby, came to the hospital where I work from the humane society for an emergency leg amputation. The tiny 9 week old fluff ball had been attacked by a pit bull
I dropped his leg in the garbage, and new I had to keep the rest of him
Most people who come to the house have to be told he has only 3 legs, and even then they have doubts until he stands still and they can get a good look
It was a front leg, so there's not even a stump
Myself, I was born in PEI, grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, and now live in Guelph, Ontario. I'm an Animal Biology student at the University of Guelph, working through my 4th year (took a summer course so I could get a free bus pass!! well, there were other reasons
). I work as a Peer Helper, running study sessions for First Year Chemistry, from September to April. From December to Juneish I work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at a large animal teaching hospital (caring for baby horses) and I recently started volunteering at the Guelph Humane Society (workign mostly witht he dogs, as they need experienced walkers, and I have a lot of experience!) In Ottawa I worked for many years in a small animal hospital, and I usually end up working there every time I go back to Ottawa for a "vacation"
Anyhow, there you have it
My dad and stepmum are coming up for the weekend to help me paint my room and reorganize the house... so I may not be back until next week - but it's been fun procrastinating this afternoon!
