Quick question.......need your opinions.........
We have 3 fur babies.......Trixie, Tigger and Petals. Well, this morning, I found a pile about 5 feet from thier 3 litter boxes.........they've always been so good..........granted, I didn't get a chance to clean it yesterday because of the holiday, but gees.........any suggestions on what might be up? Thanks so much.

Could it be that one of them is just picky about using a clean litterbox? Dori will not use one that she has gone more than a couple of times in. She has never gone outside, but if I am home she will make it quite clear that she needs it scooped.

Well Squirt, I've had them all for at least 1 year, and it's never happened before, so I figured the litterbox situation was fine.............We'll see, but it's frustrating when good kitties turn bad.
Plus, I don't know if any of you with multiple cats have this problem, but I never know who did what unless you catch them in the act!

I'll vote for the dirty litterbox excuse - I was able to catch mine in the act, though. When I was very sick once I went for more than a day without cleaning boxes, and she walked right up, and peed on my pillow while I was laying on it!

It might help for you to get an additional litterbox - a good rule is to have at least one box for each cat, plus an extra one (or more) if you'll be away from the house very long & you have a picky kitty.

Think about it - if you were out in the woods alone & had a choice between using a filthy, disgusting port-a-potty & going behind a bush, which would you choose?
To a cat with a very sensitive nose, a dirty litterbox is a thing to avoid.

I laugh about it now, too, though I was pretty mad at the time.

I have to give that cat credit for making her point effectively!
