I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that as long as the essential oil is not applied directly to the cat, I would think it was safe. Because it is diluted with water and then burned, the amount in the air would be miniscule. I sometimes burn incense and the cats don't mind it at all. I have a friend who is a vet nurse who alos burns essential oils and incense and her cats are fine. She is also a registered dog breeder and the pups are fine with it too.

Does this include those nifty oil plugins that make your house smell pretty?

When you say you diffuse oils, what exactly are you doing? I have these things that you put water in and put a couple of drops of oil and light a candle under it and it makes the room smell good, is that what you are talking about?
