Policy regarding small kittens

Because the mortality rate of feral kittens is 50% on average, small kittens will be humanely euthanized. Individuals or other organizations may tame these kittens and place them as pets rather than presenting them to Operation Cat Nap.
What about small kittens?

Because the mortality rate of feral kittens is 50% on average, kittens should be tamed and kept as pets or humanely euthanized.
I realize that these people may not have the resources to care for or house newborn kittens, but this seems a little extreme. Is this standard procedure?

Scott.....I don't believe that is standard practice..but then again...the ACA clinic doesn't take any cats/kittens before the age of 4 months to be fixed.

Individuals or other organizations may tame these kittens and place them as pets rather than presenting them to Operation Cat Nap.
I take this to mean...if an organization steps forward to work with the kittens..that is fine..but if kittens are brought to Operation Cat Nap..they will be euthanized.

Socialized (tame) cats should be placed in homes as pet cats. If socialized cats are presented to Operation Cat Nap, they may be adopted at the clinic to volunteers rather than be returned to the caretaker at the discretion of Operation Cat Nap. Caretakers will not be consulted prior to adoption.
I found this to be interesting.

Again...from what I read Scott..it sounds like if the caretaker is willing to work with the kittens and doesn't involve Operation Cat Nap....then the kittens will be ok.
