help! my new kitten won't poop in her litter box. on the first day i got her, she used the box without problem, but now she always poops next to the box. i have experimented with getting her bigger litter boxes, uncovered ones, and covered ones. i have also experimented with different levels of litter in the box. once i even caught her just before she was going to poop outside the box and i placed her in the box just in time. she still didn't learn to use her box. so this is my problem, please help!

Have you taken her to be checked out by your vet to ensure that she doesn't have any health problems?

You said you've experimented with different levels in the litter but have you tried changing the kind of litter? Some cats will use the box to pee as they don't bury it but won't use it to poop because the litter feels weird or hurts their paws when they go to bury the poop.
