My beautiful baby Sebastian. Let me tell you about his medical issues, and then his weird antics.

He has thick intestinal walls, and the vet says that the intestinal walls are suffering from "chronic inflammation". He says they don't know what causes it, but he might have to take this inflammation medication for the rest of his life. He assured me it wasn't life threatening. There was a biopsy done and it came out completely fine, just showed this intestinal walls.

Now, thats the only thing thats ever medically been wrong with him, and I doubt it has anything to do with his behavioral issues.

Sebastian is STRANGE. I mean... just weird.

He slowly walks in circles around stuff. Sometimes around the couch, just repeatedly walking in circles around the couch. He's not chasing anything. It would be like you getting up and just casually walking around you couch over and over and over for about 5 minutes straight.

It's not only walking around the couch. Sometimes it's around me while I'm sitting in my office chair, or around a kitchen chair, or the halyogen lamp. Anything.

He's also extremely jumpy. He freaks out soooo easily, and if there are any sudden movement or loud noises that just suddenly occur he'll jump sky high and haul a**.

Do I have anything to worry about?

Have you tried telling your vetenarian that? Maybe it was something that happened to him in his kittenhood that he can't forget. He is extremely paranoid and you should call his name everytime you walk into a room so he won't be so freaked out when you make a sound.

How old is he? Perhaps he enjoys acting scared as a way of playing? My Stinky girl does that. She's 15 months old. She'll act like something has totally wigged her out and go FLYING out of the room with her tail all raised and crooked, but only when she's feeling really playful...I think she likes it!
But she's a goof, what can I say...

Hehe, he is a little over 3 years old. I have told the vet about how he gets scared easily, and since I've had him since he was a baby, I know that nothing has happened to him that has been traumatic. The vet said that he thinks he might just be a very anxious cat. Poor thing.

It's the circle walking thing that puzzles me. I don't understand why he does it. My other boys (his brothers) don't do it.

Cassie,

It sounds like obsessive compulsive type of behavior. I would suggest a book by Gregory Vlamis called Bach Flower Remedies to the Rescue. It is possible that you can control the somewhat erratic behavior through a Bach mixture.

Thanks MA,

I'm gonna have to wait until I get to Oregon to get the book, as I've already started packing and my books were the first thing I packed, right now the less stuff I have the better.

You really don't realize how much JUNK you have until you go to pack it up. UGH!
