Good Lord, this poor kitty!! *With an updated picture!!!* - Page 4

I am overjoyed you have made such a beautiful choice. Starlight may be upset now, but he certainly doesn't know how very lucky he is to have a wonderful person like you in his life. Good luck to you and him. Bless you both. My baby Orei is upset with me when he is ill and needing meds sense he hates them, but once treatment is over, he is back to his normal, sweet self. No worrys. Thank you for taking him in Mary Anne.

WOW...He's certainly working on the humans! Now, if only he can be so successful with the critters, he'll have it made. What a hoot, that description of him marching all over Mike!

Tania, Mikes calls him Starlight-starbright when he talks to him (kind of in a singsong like that old childhood song? I got confused after being up there and hearing him sing to him. Maybe I should just call him Kensington- after all he IS royalty! LOL

Forgive my brain fade, it is (for now) Starlight

MA, it really doesn't matter what he's called (except Fru-Fru kitty ) He looks like a Charles to me.

Pat? Starlight just met Mr. Jingleworm- he batted that toy all over the room. I guess he is feeling much better today.

Oh he's looking MUCH better Mary Anne. Thanks for all the updates. I've enjoyed reading this thread. This is the color cat we have been after for ever, Black vans are so gorgeous!! Just a soft tissue/cloth with warm water is all we use with our Persians, and yes we do have whites. It's the easiest, oldest method in the book. As for the strange sounds he's making, I would definitly ask the vet. It doesn't sound normal to me, even for a Persian with the shortened face. We've never had that problem. But asking the vet will bring peace of mind. He sounds like such a happy cat, there couldn't be a better home for him!

I hope I haven't missed anything.

This was just taken a few minutes ago. Pat, I believe you will never see his eyes. The flash must hurt him for he either turns his head or he closes them the minute the camera is raised. But here you can see his coloring pretty good.

He has literally perfect markings for a van! I think I'm in love!!

Now Now! Don't start renaming Starlight on me! Besides, I don't have cats with human names, it's just not possible!

Well, one day after he's gazing at you with love, just tell us what color they are I'm sure they are lovely!

He certainly is striking...goes right along with his personality..he's gorgeous!

Pat, his eyes are orange, and his heart is gold!

I noticed his eyes are badly stained. You can use a boric acid solution to help remove some of the stain. Be very careful not to get it in his eyes. Boil 1 cup of water add half tsp of powder boric acid. Let cool then wipe underneath the eyes. You could do this twice a day for a week. If you do not want to use the boric acid you could use renu or a saline solution. Sometimes raising the food dish helps limit the tearing. Mine seem to tear when their heads are down. If he still has mats it would be better to have them shaved off and start grooming him fresh. Steel comb works the best. I rarely use a brush on my persians.
You have done a great job.

Aaaawww what a cutie He is just so beautiful M.A. He looks so much better now . It is always amasing after a cat was abused or went through hell and back , how it still wants to trust a person and love and is willing to give love again to a human .

Thank you Sharon fo the great rescue

Sharon, lovely to see you post. Thanks so much for saving this beautiful boy!

Mary Anne, I love the pics of him playing!! That is so adorable!!

Is he eating and drinking well?

Sam there are only two ways I can get him to drink. Adding water to his wet food, or syringing water into his mouth tiny bits at a time. I am still giving him pedialyte not just water.
