Yea
this weekend we have a cat-show in Savannah,Georgia . We have one cat-show now every year at the same time and I always can't wait when the time is here to go to the show
. I love to look at all those beautiful cats and kittens
If it would be up to me , they would all get a price to take home
So my husband will come with me tomorow to look at all those wonderful cats . It is the first time he will come with me here in the usa , he went in Germany a couple of times and was bored out of his mind
I will not only look around , this time I will bring my retired show girl home I bought from a breeder . Her Name is "Myst" and she is a Oriental Shorthair
, that is my favored breed btw . She is a Ebony Smoke girl, one and a half yrs old. Grand Champion/Premier
and soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous
. She has the most incredible green eyes I ever have seen on a cat
OK I stop to brag about her . I also will buy something for me again , I do that every year
. Last year I got me a cat sweater
and a cat watch
and for my baby's I got a new carrier
and looks like a basket ( plastic) and has a easy snap to open and closed for the carrier on it
. I hope to get me one more sweater with cats on it this year , just in a other color
. And who knows what else I see , to bad everything is so pricey there or I may buy everything I see and like

Does any of you like to go to a cat-show ? If yes do you also spent money to buy something for you or your baby's ?
Kind of wondering if I am the only one acting like crazy to go to a cat-show

Hedi, I've only been to one and had all kinds of good plans to spend some money there.
Unfortunately, the vendors there just weren't that great.
About half of them didn't even have cat-related stuff!

The cats were gorgeous though and I would love to go to another one.

I've never been to a cat show. I would love to go to one, though. I have been to a dog show, and I had fun. I didn't buy anything except food, though.

valanhb , ohhh noooo
. That must have bin very disapointing for you , I would be for sure .
In Savannah they have about everything , jewely , cloths and all the toys you can think of for cats , including cat tree's ect ect .

Ilovecats , I know it is very pricey at the cat-show . A $100.00 is nothing , you can spent it in 2 minutes
. I think my cta sweater was alone like 50 or 60 dollars .

Hope , how come you never went to a cat-show ? Is there none where you live ? I never have bin to a dog show , but I always watch on TV if there is one
and I like it . My friend Iris told me that a dog-show is really nice to go too , she used to show her little dog
. Well we don't have any dog-shows around my area and so can't go

Have a great time! My whole life used to be work and cat shows...I would work 36 hour weekends so I could have 3 day weekends off (as a nurse, I worked every other weekend) and go to cat shows up and down the East Coast. When not showing, I enjoyed going to shows with friends who were, and being a spectator.

I've seen some vendors at shows with good show specials, and great prices on feather teasers, shampoos you might not find at your local pet store, special prices from the cat food vendors.

Myst sounds lovely

I've never been to a cat show, and I would love to go to one. One day I will, but they never have them near where I live. Have a great time.

Every year, there is a cat show where I live (Cedar Rapids, IA). I used to enter my Burmese (Beau) in it when he was younger. I am still going, even though I no longer show Beau. I would go to some farther away if I drove a car.

I enjoy them very much, and this year I plan on looking and maybe buying some cat furniture for Beau and Felicia.

I guess living in a tiny country like NZ, has it's ++. I go to cat shows every weekend from March- September but as you know that's because I show my Persians & Exotics. We have alot of stalls at each show, some cat related some not but I generally don't buy stuff from them unless it's supporting the SPCA. Cat shows are SO MUCH fun.
Have fun Hedi.. you must tell us all about it.

Hedi where is it at in Savannah? I am just a few hours away from you. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun and I could meet you in person if all goes right for me. I can't promise yet that I can go but I sure want to try

A friend of mine has 3 Golden Retrievers that she shows, and a bunch of us went to one of her shows. It was a blast, because we got to hang out with other people who were showing their dogs as well. There was one couple who always came to the shows in their motor home. We hung out in the motor home a lot . It was an all day affair.

I'm sure we do have cat shows somewhere here in Los Angeles, and if I hear of one, that is not too far away, I'll go to one. I just never hear about any cat shows. I'd love to see some other Bengals. The only Bengal's I've ever seen in person have been my Simba and his litter mates.

That would be great
I would love to meet you in person

The show is in the "Armstrong University" all the way back , I think it is their sports ???? (hmmm can't think of the right word now ) building . You can follow the little signs they have . I be there around 10am ...until ????? I am done looking
.

Thank you all so much , I am sure I will have a lot of fun

Pat , Myst is very , very and very lovely
. Thank you Pat . The breeder has a hard time giving me the cat , Myst has grown on her very much . I do understand that , it has to be hard .

Hope , they don't show Bengals in Savannah , only in Atlanta
. So no Bengals for me to see , but I know a breeder 3 hours away from me and I have visit him with my husband together before and could see a lot of Bengals
. He also has a "F1" girl and is breeding her too , but not often . Boy does she has a wild look on her and we could not touch her . I think if we would try that day , I would not be here on my computer LOL
. But she is a very beautiful girl . He also had a neutered "F1" , he was a rescue . He is also in rescue and has many rescue Bengals and other cats there . It was fun to visit him that day and we spent 3 hours on our visit

Sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun! Next time there is a show in Salt Lake City, I'm going to go. I think there's one coming up this summer.

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Oh, I'm so excited for you, Hedi!
Please tell us all about it! I've never had the opportunity to go to a cat show, but I so love watching them when they're on TV.
Just thinking about it makes me want to find one in my area so I can go! I'd do just like you, I would save up and buy Sierra as much as I could afford for her!
I'd have to get a souvenier like a cat sweater, and how great!.a cat watch!
Please tell us more about Myst and show us lots of pics if possible!!

I love going to cat shows- now just to look at the cats and catch up with Beau's breeder. Nice to also check out all the different breeds.
Started going to look at cats and meet breeders as I was considering a second Persian- and actually found my young cat at a show- the litter were on show and for sale. The breeder was someone I knew had a good reputation and nice PKD-negative cats.
For a while- thought about showing Beau so went just to see how shows were run and what went on the judging- and to pick up grooming and care tips.
Have picked up some good cat stuff at the stalls and it's never been very expensive.
Have fun
Catherine

Thank you all so much for your reply and yes I had lots of fun
They had so many beautiful cats there and it is hard not to fall in love with one
This year I seen a couple Russian Blue cats
, they are just gorgeous .They also had some very pretty MaineCoons there
and they had also more Cornish Rex cats there and Spynx cats to my suprice . Last year they oly had one Spynx breeder there and this year I think it was 4 or 5 breeders . And of course all Persian ect ect and no Sam I did not see a Exotics
. I really want to see one , but to my disapointment not a single one .Maybe I over looked them , could be . They also had Oriental Shorthair there
and it was nice to see some spotted colors in that breed , they look gorgeous
. I also seen lots of toys , nick nacks and cat tree's ect ect . And yes
I got me my sweater , this time in a nice green color and will go good with jeans
. I also got something for all my baby's to use
a hanging cat bed
in purple
. I love it and it looks great . That was the only one they brought with them , they forgot the rest at home LOL . And I was the one getting it
I am soooo happy about that
. My husband will hang it in the cat enclosure
and hopefuly they will enjoy it . Of course I could have bought a lot more , just did not had the money
and now have to wait till next year
. The only negative thing was , that the a/c was freezing us to death
. I was a Ice cupe after a half an hour
. But you could buy 2 slice of Pizza for $ 3.00 , what I thought was a good price .I really had a wonderful time there
My husband was a little bored and I said to myself I will not bring him along next year
LOL .
I also got my baby "Myst" now and she is just soooooo pretty
And no I don't have any pics yet and need to make some of her . Be sure I will post them . Right now she is a little scared and is in my bedroom and will stay there for a while till she is ready to come out . Her breeder had one heck of a time to say good bye to her
. I almost did not want to take her with me , but she said she can't keep them all . She was in tears letting Myst go
I give the breeder many
and told her that she can be assured that Myst will have a very good home with me and that I will spoil her . I felt so bad walking out of the show with Myst , even though I bought her from this nice Lady

Sounds like you had a good time at the cat show today. Was it at Armstrong college? I passed by there today on my way to petsmart and saw the sign, I didnt know it was going on or I would have made plans to go myself. Oh well, maybe next year. If you want someone to go with next year my daughter and I will go with you. I didnt see any advertisement for it or I would have gone today. Sounds like you have another pretty kitty also. Cant wait to see some pictures of Myst. I got another one too, a stray that I had been feeding in Savannah and she is home with me now and waiting for her trip to the vet to be spayed and vaccinated. Hope all goes well for her.
