YAY! It's friday!

I've been looking forward to this day all week since it starts my three day weekend! This week has been a little wild and crazy for me & I'm looking forward to a little down time. The craziness all started on Saturday with the huge storm that passed through my area & it was like I was playing catch up the rest of the week. Yesterday I was called in the middle of my shift to head out to Shenadoha Iowa because they had a freak storm hit their store. It tore off part of their roof & 3 inches of water came pouring into the building. What a mess! Looks like the store is pretty much ruined, but they're being optimistic about reopenning it in the next few days. Most of the merchandise was trashed along with the brand new wood floor they installed recently. So after many hours of sweating & hardwork, I was completely exhausted! I'm still trying to recover from the sore muscles, but I've got so much to do today. I'm heading out in a few hours to go back home to see my folks for the long weekend. I'm packing up the girls even though they really don't like traveling much. It's not too far (about 80 miles) for them & my parents have been begging me to bring them home for a visit. Hopefully the fur won't fly too much with them being reunited with Bud & the dog. Wish us luck, ok?

Well, that's about it in a nutshell for my exciting news! LOL!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday weekend!

Yay!! 3-day weekend!!

Of course, I'm going to be so busy I really only get 1 day of down time. But that's OK. We have our first official Team Practice tomorrow and a Match on Sunday where I'm selling fundraiser stuff for the Junior Team and being Stat Officer. So at least I get two days up in the mountains doing stuff I like to do, being with people I like being with. Should be fun if it isn't too cold!

Well, I have about 5 minutes before I get to go home and start the long weekend!! WOOHOO!!

I just informed my boss that I was leaving at 3:30. I informed him that all other employers were letting their staff leave early for the holiday weekend so there was no reason for him to pay me when he could just let me go home!
I am going home to take a nap, then going to get all my cleaning done so I don't have to do it over the weekend. I have a ton of work to do for my algebra class, but thats the only plans I have. I just want to have a nice relaxing weekend.
(thats why I wish it would rain

Just got home from school... awaiting mini pizzas cooking in the oven. Mmm - culinary genius.
I really need to take a cooking course.

Anyway, a pretty good day today. Didn't do much of anything. I got my math mark back (most of you know with my troubles in math from last year) -- 66%. I'm happy that I'm passing but I wish I were doing better - I've put a lot of work into it this year and it's kind of like a slap in the face that the teacher thinks I'm not doing anything just because I used to slack off in her classes in ninth grade. I've changed a lot since ninth grade - I'm going to tutoring still and I'm trying to make things make sense, but it's not getting me anywhere.
I'm petrified that I won't get into university next year.

Scott's working 'til 11 pm, so I doubt I'll be seeing him tonight. We haven't spent much time together at all this week - I've been staying up 'til two in the morning most every night to finish my schoolwork.

Anyway, I'm still looking for a job since my contract expired at the end of March. No one seems to be hiring around here... I have an appointment at the employment agency on Monday, so hopefully something comes of that *crosses fingers*. I really have to save up for school, and I feel pretty much useless. When my friends ask me if I can go to movies or anything, I always have to say no because I can't afford a ticket.

On a happier note, my prom dress comes back from being altered tonight. I'll have to take some pics to show you guys. I bought it at a second hand shop, and it's not really extravagant but I love it. It was just a wee bit too long.

Well, sorry for all that rambling! I didn't realize how long it was, lol.
Have a good weekend, all.

Yay it's Saturday!

Yesterday I had school.. as usual and then in the afternoon I bathed my black boy Benja, with a new handcleaner, and OMG he looks awesome.. too bad he's going to have so much competition this weekend.

Today, well gotta bit of free time for the computer but soon I'll be off to the show hall(about 10 minutes drive) and we'll be setting up our cat show, the biggest of the year. It's so exciting!! Then Nana & I are going to pick up the overseas judges, from South Africa and Australia. Then tonight we're going out with the judges to a Chinese Resturaunt.. YUM! Then after this I'm coming home to bath my kitten, Acorn.

Tomorrow, it's an early start. I'm going to be on "the door" at the show in the morning(I'm asistant show sec.) welcome the exhibitors and giving them their envelopes(with their show numbers on) and then for the rest of the day doing odd jobs. I wont have much time to keep my eyes on the cats. But wish us luck! Lots of competition this time.

May I ask why it's a three day weekend? LOL I want one of them! But next weekend we're driving to Auckland, 10 hours away for a cat show, because that's our three day weekend(Queens Birthday Weekend). Shell I hope you have a nice time at your parents, and oh yes remember to take lots of pics of Bud!! We miss him!! Have fun Heidi
. Oh I love suprise parties Carrie.. have fun at that and the BBQ & Squirtle I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.

Have a good one everyone!
Sam.

Jenn- Oh I am jelous.. Those Mini Pizzas sound delicious. It's not even breakfast time here yet! LOL.

Congrats on the maths pass. Maths is probably the subject I'm struggling most with at college, even though I'm in the highest Year Ten class, I only got 27/64 the other day in a Fraction test and the rest of the class got in the 50's. So I'm going to be taking extra lessons, because I do want to pass!

Good luck searching for jobs. Can't wait to see your Prom dress.. Betya it's beautiful. Have a good weekend.

Sam - Thanks for your kind words!

I hope you enjoy your extra lessons for maths. I know it sounds corny, but I quite enjoy mine. My tutor is really cool. He's volunteer, but every time I visit, I have to put $5 in a jar. At the end of the course, when I can show him my passing report card, I get the whole jar back (usually there's about $250 accumulated!) and I get to spend it on whatever I want. It's a wonderful feeling -- a passing grade AND a shopping spree.
(However, if I fail, the money goes to the charity of his choice. I always give half to the charity, anyway, 'cause he helps me out for free.)

Thanks Jenn.
I will try, I had my first one the other day and I find it so much easier to concentrate and learn being the only person there, I think that's why I always said I wanted to be homeschooled. That's a really good idea. I like it!!

Yeah, I find it a lot easier one-on-one as well.
I know it's lame, but I'm so proud of myself when I finally understand a concept that I didn't get before.

Movin' on up!
Light day, for Friday. Good timing: payday AND three-day weekend. We'll make the WalMart run, early tomorrow morning and get onto cleaning the house. Naturally, on Sunday, Bill will watch racing. Monday, my parents are coming over for a barbeque. All that I have to fix is the beans. Bill is doing the ribs, corn on the cob abd potato salad.

Not to forget the real meaning of this holiday, we'll go put flowers and a little flag on Bill's parents' grave. His dad was a WWII vet, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and liberated Dachau.

Sam, this weekend is Memorial Day Weekend & Monday is Memorial Day. The meaning behind it is to remember those who have passed on. Usually people take flowers & etc to the graves and there is always a big ceremony for those who have fought in the Military. I think this year will be a harder one on some since many people have lost their lives in the war in Iraq.

This year will be the first in many many years that I will actually go to the gravesite & pay my respects. I've always hated going because I hate seeing my family members grieving. I've just always said a little prayer & remember them all that way. For some reason this year, I've felt that it's something I need to do for myself. So, I plan on going out there on my way out of town & it will be just myself. I've lost so many in the past few years including a very close friend this past fall. I guess it's the right thing to do & I know that I will feel better about it. Maybe this is my way of saying goodbye? I dunno....

Sam, Memorial Day is like Anzac Day - i hope that gives you an idea.

Just went to Walmart this evening to get some stuff we need, and some painting supplies so I can finish off my kitty litter pan cover. Almost finished, thanks to the supervision of Peedoodle!
Hes a good little helper!

Jenn - I had a major problem with maths in high school, I am so bad at it, I had a tutor and he made me study it the old fashioned way, I tried telling my parents but it didn't work and so I told a teacher at school what he was doing and they told my parents and finally I stopped going to the tutor. Now, I just say that I am allergic to maths
But I like the idea of putting the money in the jar, that is a good motivator!

Have a good day all.

Thanks Shell & Kellye. I understand now. Loving thoughts to all those that passed fighting for their country.

WOW! 9000 posts- LOL.

I've just got back from setting up the show hall. Only 175 cats entered this year but it's such a huge lovely well lit hall that it's going to be a great day. No problems setting up! Just that our sponser was very weak and we don't have alot of food prizes.

Sam.
