Hi Last night I bought a cat tree for Ginger and Max.
They are my two new (3days) 4 year old Brit Shorthairs
They had a sniff and turned up their noses.
I put it in their scnctuary room but not in the slightest bit interested.

So What to do?
Where do you tend to locate the Cat trees
How does one motivate them to use it insted of them climbing all over my desk ?
Cheers gang

WELL....It might just take them a while to get used to the new piece of furniture, no matter where you put it. So they might not touch it for a little bit. You could take them to it whenever they get all over your computer- but either way I'm sure they'll warm up to it eventually. Good Luck

There's no place like home
I had only 1 tree for a while and they only liked it in certain spots in the house. I had to move it a couple of times before I found out where they liked it. I now have one tree per room (including the hallways) and chose the spots as follows:

They absolutely love being able to see multiple areas of the house from up high. I have one in the large doorway between the living room and family room, which has a view to the hallway and dining room.

A second one is in the upstairs hallway just outside our bedroom door. From it, they can see into all 3 bedrooms, the bathroom, and the staircase.

These 2 are by far the most used trees in the house.

Another is in the back porch, which also contains the puppy kennels. This is a very sunny room and they use it to nap in the sun, as well as an escape route from the puppies (when they get rambunctious).

4 more are in sunny windows for the "nap in the sun" factor.

One in the kitchen between the doors to the hallway and dining room. Another escape from rambunctious puppies, a good view of 2 rooms plus the hallway, and a deterrant from the kitchen counters (gives them an alternative high place to lay).

Bottom line - they like to be able to see a lot from up high, and they like sunny spots.

Hope this helps!!
