hot springs, and feral cats, meaning Hungary, tomorrow. Neither one of us is looking forward to the long, all-day drive, but knowing that the thermal springs and terrific food, not to mention the opportunity to just be lazy, are waiting at the other end makes it easier to take. We'll be staying at my in-laws' vacation cottage near Bük, in western Hungary, about an hour's drive from Vienna, Austria. JC is staying home in his familiar surroundings - my mother-in-law will be here twice a day to take care of him, and the people next door have a key. We're staying until next Sunday. That's a bit shorter than originally planned, but I have to birdsit the week after next.
Probably one of the first things we'll be doing is buying cat food - you wouldn't believe the number of ferals there, and the closest shelter is over an hour away. There's a colony of ferals at the spa we go to - at least they get enough to eat, and some are even spayed/neutered. Seeing all the homeless cats puts somewhat of a damper on our vacation.
