Barb's post in the Daily Thread about going to see David Bowie got me thinking about concerts. OK, that and I just went to one on Thursday...

What was the last concert you saw?

What were one or some of the best bands/performers you've seen live?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We went to see Brides of Destruction on Thursday, and it was a great show. It's one of those Super Bands of 80's rockers. It was formed by Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns (so they performed a couple L.A. Guns and Crue songs for the encore, which was SO cool!)

As for the best....that's a harder question. Nine Inch Nails is just amazing live. So is David Bowie. I have to include Aerosmith on my list too. Tori Amos was awesome too. Alice Cooper is definitely and entertainer, great shows by him. I've seen some really great shows!

Tori Amos is by far the best live performer I have seen! But I may be biased here because she is actually my favorite musician... period. I see her every chance I can get, and I love the fact that she doesnt do a set playlist that she plays in every town. Each show is personalized.

And on the other end of the artistic spectrum.... I have also been to both an Nsync concert, which my best friend dragged me to for moral support (she has an adult crush on Justin Timberlake). As well as taken my little sister to a Britney Spears concert, and I must admit that the teeny-bopper shows made for a fun time too! But the only reason I admit that here is because no one can see my face! Ha Ha!!! LOL!!!

The last concert I went to was waaaay back in either 1986 or 87. It was an Iron Maiden concert and I think that was the best concert I've been to.

How did I forget them? I agree, Maiden puts on a fantastic show! I've seen them twice and they were amazing both times.

The last rock concert I went to the the Rolling stones and everybody else in Toronto last summer.

The last concert of any kind was jazz, a big band with a vocalist and trumpet player soloists.

Let's see if I can remember some...

George Strait (3 times) - probably the best concert to date....
Don Williams
Chris LeDoux
Patty Loveless
Ray Stevens (funny but this was in the late 1980's)
Ray Price
Kenny Rogers (Also back in the 1980's - probably the worst concert I have been to.)
Bee Gees
Tammy Wynette (before she passed away)
Lorrie Morgan
Les Brown

There's more but I'll try to think of others.....

Well I'm back and i have to say, Davie Bowie went Well beyond what I expected! It was a great show!
Unfortunately, when we got back to our friends house, their daughter had some friends over (boys and girls, she's 16) and they were all drinking.
apparently they thought we were going to be out later then we were. can we say BUSTED!? so Brad and I made a hasty exit so they could deal with that little situation. Not good...
but all in all, we all had a great time! I would go again! he is a wonderful singer and has an amazing show! the band before him though wasn't to great though, but they were just starting over here, maybe someone in Wales has heard of them? the Sterophonics? they were ok, just not what I really listen to, reminded me of a garage band...IMO.

He's my all time fave artist and only seen him once back in 92. Since then He's either not performed here or I couldn't afford to go.

Well lets see...

Greenday/Bush back in 1994 my first "real" concert...
Lollapulza or however it was spelled around the same time (it was a lot of fun)
Backstreet Boys twice
Nsync three times I'm won't appologize for it, they were really fun concerts.

Insane Clown Posse (This I was ashamed to go to even when I went to it.
But it was a lot of fun)
Korn and Limp Bizkit - this was insisted upon by a friend of my mine
Tool three times
A Perfect Circle twice
Kenny Rogers twice, not the best show ever but I loved him as a kid.
David Bowie (Very good show)
A bunch of Radio Station put on concerts with several acts.

I have tickets to go see The Darkness next month.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something

My best concert was a Bon Jovi summer concert that happened in Toronto. Actually, I'm just in love with Jon, since I think he has the most beautiful face and body. *sigh*

I had just come back from Europe and the concert took place in an open air forum. The weather was perfect and the whole night seemed almost magical. I'll never forget it!
