Hello fellow cat lovers! I've been browsing the forums for a few days and just decided to jump on in! My name is Alicia and I'm from Indianapolis. I am 24, a teacher, and planning a wedding for June 4, 2005! I have one 2 yr. old kitty named Mela (pronounced Mee-luh) and a little baby kitty on the way! A little boy this time - I can pick him up when he's about 6 weeks old and I can't wait!!

See you all on the boards!

ahunt418..welcome to the site...is the male kitten you are picking up currently with it's mother?? If so, it is preferable to allow the kitten to stay with it's mom until it is 8-12 weeks of age.

Yep, still with his momma...the lady I'm getting him from said first of June, and I think that will be 6 weeks. Thanks for the info! Maybe I can get her to have the kittens stay another few weeks!!

Welcome to TCS- a kitten that is 6 weeks old is really young to be taken away from it's mother we take them away at about 12 weeks old. Is there anyway you could keep him with his mother longer so he gets the best chance in life?
