So far out in left field I got lost
Dakota tore Nakita's leather collar off of her again
Now I have to go and get her a new one which is okay but good lord, it's just the thought that he is so rough with her that he tears a leather collar in half. What do you guys say.... a spiked collar this time?

Tuxedokitties has a good idea. that way all you have to do it find the collar and then you won't have to spend lots of money buying collars each time.

How about a nylon collar? My mom has two Labs, and the male is always dragging the female around by the collar (she appears to like it). Leather collars have never lasted long, but the nylon ones don't rip easily.

Being vegan, I wouldn't buy leather regardless, but...

Any collar for a cat should be a safety collar--either elastic or breakaway. I don't like the breakaways because they break away often, seemingly all the time and in every part of the house >.< Cats can also learn to pop off the collar at will lol. Smart kitties ^^

I think a spiked collar would be cute for Nakita. I don't think the spikes are really sharp right? My mom and dad have the same problem with their 2 dogs that live outside most of the time. They really play rough with eachother.

I have already tried the nylon collars and they didn't even last one night with them two
They do play really, really rough and at times I think they are trying to kill each other. I never see any blood on them which is good since I would hate to have to seperate them. They love each other as much as Nemo and Nakita loved each other. You know come to think of it Nemo tore Kita's collar off once too

I found Nakita a really beautiful nylon collar that is 100% gauranteed against tearing or chewing, etc. We shall see
I will have to get a picture of her wearing her new one and show all of you. She looks FABO in it

Movin' on up!
How about a chain collar? That would be hard to break.

A few months ago, I found Ike's collar, laying on the patio - broken. He and Pearl drag each other around, by their collars. I can't put the dogs' tags on their collars, either - they pull each others' off. Now, I just keep the tags in a drawer. Ike and Pearl never go anywhere, anyway.

Yes, chain would be very hard to break if the cat got it caught in something.

The breakaway collar sounds like a pretty good idea, Cathi! That's what I like to use anyway for safety. Maybe instead of snapping and breaking it would just release! Maybe a little easier on poor little Nakita's neck, too!

Our dogs have Choker Chains, and they have each had theirs for about 8 years, they play really rough and they have never been broken. We paid about $30NZ each for them, so they are really good quality. I can't wait to see pics! Hope this collar lasts.. otherwise one with spikes might be a good option.

My boss just gave me an idea to keep Dakota from chewing and ripping Nakita's collar off. He said soak the collar in hot sauce and that way when he grabs it it will give him a surprise. I don't know if I am going to do that thou. I'm afraid that it may hurt both of them
