Jewel URGENT!
Cat
Domestic Long Hair,Tortoiseshell

Size: Small
Age: Young
Sex: Female
I.D: Jewel

Notes: Jewel is a quiet and laid back little girl who keeps to her self. She would make a perfect pet for some one who has no other cats or dogs. Jewel has been spayed and is up to date on her shots, litterbox trained and very affectionate with people. She prefers to lay in your lap and be petted! She is fostered in Clearwater, Ks. Any questions please feel free to email her foster mom! UPDATE..... Jewel needs to find a new foster home or her forever home as soon as possible. At this point she has to be kept seperate from the other cats. This is not a fun way for her to live! Please help if you can.

This pet is: up to date with routine shots, already house trained, altered

IA. If you need me, just meow..
She is beautiful but I can't (sadly) have her. due to not only space, but I have four other cats as well.
I wish I could though, she looks like a wonderful cat.

Jewel is still with us, she loves to sleep in the kitchen cabinets so we cleared one out of all the dishes and she sleeps and eats in there. The more we have watched we realized she is not starting the fights but will hiss and swat if one is aggressive to her first. I think if we can find her a home with either a lot fewer cats(we have 24 between ours and the fosters) or more mellow ones she would be all right.

She is beautiful!

I do believe in a more quiet setting she could come out of shell quite a bit. How old is she? It didn't say, but is she declawed?

I may be going to Cleveland, Mo in the next week or two to pick up a kitten for my Grandma. You're pretty close to that area, aren't you?

I have been looking to adopt a buddy or two for Sammy Boyo. If you have a hard time placing her what needs to be done in order to adopt?

I live near St Louis, Mo and Cleveland Mo (by Mapquest.com) is 4 hours and 41 minutes from here, so I won't be going that way for a LONG time.

Hey Flea! I live about 10 minutes from Cleveland MO. If you take her and someone can arrange transport up this way, I could keep her for a couple of days until you pick her up.

Best of luck with the adoption! If you're not sure about how to make the proper introduction - we have an article about it in the cat care section.

I do hope so.

My plans to go to Cleveland have changed some, but hopefully I can still travel quite a distance. If things do work out between CharmedCats and I, I'd be more than willing to welcome Jewel into my home.

For anyone wondering, yes, I did ask if she was declawed. I actually prefer cats that aren't, and would have no plans to have her done.

I would like to ask, if there's anyone here between the area where Jewel is and St. Louis, Mo - could we possibly get some transport help? Usually I don't offer to pay a person but because gas prices are high, on top of whatever the adoption fee is, I could offer anyone willing to help a partial gas reimbursement.

Flea - if you are truly serious about taking her, I can post a request for transport in the Kansas City area on their rescue user's group. I can't post unless it is a confirmed adoption on your end. Kansas City is close to halfway between Clearwater (south of Wichita) and St. Louis and I could probably find someone to do this for you.

Charmed - can you transport closer to KC? I could probably find someone to take a leg from where you can drop off to closer to St. Louis. I'm thinking that JeJe would be more than willing to drive part of the trip (she drove a cat from Kansas City to Best Friends in Utah and totalled her car on the way home right before Xmas - I posted that story around the end of last year) - she's got her car back finally and isn't working full time right now.

Let me know if I should request this for you.

Hi all! Adoption has been ok'd by me and I have final say in it. I can get her as far east as olathe, Ks, which is 3 1/2 hours from us.

I'm about 40 minutes from Olathe, KS. Great location to find someone in my neck of the woods to transport further - a lot of the rescue folks live out that way.

Flea - how far can you come from St. Louis? And btw, if you are still going to Cleveland MO, it is about 30 minutes from Olathe.

Have you picked a day or range of days that you wish to do arrange for this? I can post on the local rescue site for transport volunteers. If you are going to meet up somewhere near Kansas City, I can get you directions to a meeting place (or heck, meet up at my house).

This is way cool!!
