Rosie washes Sophies bum!

I've seen her do this a couple of times when she's been washing Sophie.

I can understand her washing Sophie down, but to clean her bum as well?!

I know it's a natural thing for cats to do, but should i let her do Sophies?

Tipsy always heads to that area on Cedar as well - I didnt think much of it until I read your post.

It's just the thought of it , i'm hoping it won't do her any harm though.

The thing is, Sophie just lets her!. She lies on her back with her paws in the air looking quite content

I can just picture it now good girl Sophie!!

I dont think its a bad thing - just giving her a good wash

Since Sophie is a wee little kitten, she may not really *clean* down there all too well. Rosie is just doing what any doting mother-type cat would do. And Sophie relates it to what her Mommy did.

Heidi your right!.

Emma(my vet nusre pal), who i got Sophie from, e-mailed me saying it was bringing out the maternal instincts in Rosie and with Sophie being so small will remind her of her mother washing her

Don't worry about it. For us it looks pretty gross. But to my cats its mostly normal. Although when Orei is grooming Princess under her tail, he starts out gentle, but when he trys to get out the matts in her fur,and get her clean,she gets pretty upset. She will up really fast,and give him a little bop on the nose,sometimes, and then walk away with her nose up. Its kinda of funny,like she is saying,Oh no you don't,thats enough. He looks kinda hurt after that,like I didn't mean to! I just give him a kiss on the nose,nd he looks okay,and then goes off, and they play together agian.
