Check out the link for the picture:

Quite interesting because of the party that took the video. Specifically as stated in the article “Hundreds of videos (of UFOs) exist, but none had the backing of the armed forces of any country.... The armed forces don't perpetuate frauds.â€

EDIT: Hmmm what happen to the delete button? Anyway, wanted to add in a poll on whether do you believe in UFOs. Specifically beings from out of this world.

Mexican military pilots film UFOs
Associated Press

Mexico City — Mexican air force pilots filmed 11 unidentified flying objects in the skies over southern Campeche state, a Defence Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

A videotape made widely available to the news media Tuesday shows the bright objects, some sharp points of light and others like large headlights, moving rapidly in what appears to be a late-evening sky.

The lights were filmed March 5 by pilots using infrared equipment. They appeared to be flying at an altitude of about 3,500 metres and allegedly surrounded the air force jet as it conducted routine anti-drug trafficking vigilance in Campeche. Only three of the objects showed up on the plane's radar.

“Was I afraid? Yes,†said radar operator Lieutenant German Marin in a taped interview made public Tuesday.

“A little afraid because we were facing something that had never happened before.â€

“I couldn't say what it was ... but I think they're completely real,†added Lt. Mario Adrian Vazquez, the infrared equipment operator.

Lt. Vazquez insisted there was no way to alter the recorded images.

The plane's captain, Major Magdaleno Castanon, said the military jets chased the lights “and I believe they could feel we were pursuing them.â€

When the jets stopped following the objects, they disappeared, he said.

A Defence Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday the videotape was filmed by members of the Mexican air force. The spokesman declined to comment further and spoke on customary condition of anonymity.

The video was first aired on national television Monday night then again at a news conference Tuesday by Jaime Maussan, a Mexican investigator who has dedicated the last 10 years to studying UFOs.

“This is historic news,†Mr. Maussan said.

“Hundreds of videos (of UFOs) exist, but none had the backing of the armed forces of any country.... The armed forces don't perpetuate frauds.â€

Mr. Maussan said Secretary of Defence Gen. Ricardo Vega Garcia gave him the video April 22.

They look like those lights that go under the plane's wing. Or like Helen says, more of those darn weather balloons. Not sure if UFO's exist, I have yet to see one, even though my mother's good friend claims to have seen one

Puerto Rico... land of rice and beans.
More of those weather balloons.

Here we've had cases with those sightings.... there have been photographs of UFOs taken in Southwest PR and then it turns out it was the radar balloon the U.S. Border Patrol has to check in illegal traffic coming from the Dominican Republic.

There have been other cases that when the weather clears and there are no clouds over the mountains of El Yunque in Eastern PR, you see red lights on top of the mountains. People who ain't familiar with the place and tourists start claiming they've seen an UFO. And in truth they've seen the lights of a radar the Feds (The army used to have it, now they are talking of turning it over to FAA) have to monitor boat traffic from the east coast of PR to the Virgin Islands.

I agree with you that those are probably weather balloons
But the ufo thing scares me. Aliens scare me. The movie Signs freaked me out, I had nightmares for weeks. Have any of you ever heard about the alleged live video recording called 'Incident in Lake County'?
Scariest thing I have ever seen in my life. I will see if I can find info on it and post it.

ARGH I am sooo STUPID! After all these years have passed since I saw this film,I was just looking for info on it on the internet and found that it was a hoax! They even credited all of the actors at the end of the film. (which I didn't watch because I had to turn off the tv at the very end because I was so scared) The executive producer was Dick Clark

LOL, don't worry, I'm sure we've all done something similar.

With the weather balloon theory, do they send them up in numbers like that? Like 11 at once? Also, do they emit their own light or just reflect light?

i dont think that those looked like weather balloons, they dont go as fast as a jet, and exactly when the jet stopped pursuing them, they went out. and it wouldnt be another airplane because those lights blink, green on the right and red on the left i think. i do beleive in ufo, although i haveent seen one. i do want to see "signs" though

In a Missile LCC somewhere...
I just read that, Ball Lightining has *always* been on of the top 5 explanations of UFO sightings. I studied the UFO field for a time when I was a tad younger and know a little bit about some of the Debunking thats comes with it and it smells like this is a tad debunking. Granted I haven't seen the FULL video and hear a translation of what the pilots said on the intercom or to the tower (hearing if they were under stress, excitment or in fear), but I highly doubt that military pilots would freak out over some balloons or ball lighting which btw, is VERY VERY rare to occur in a natural setting. Can't be swamp gas either (remember that one?). One other thing also, if I read correctly, they only showed up in infrared. Balloons would need something heated to do something like that, ball lightinng would be visible to the naked eye.

One other footnote, Mexico has always been for the past 10-15 years been a hot bed of UFO sightings, especially the "pearl necklaces" that have shown up in the day light. I'll be very interested if there were any reporting in the area where the jets were, either before, during or after the incident.

My 2 cents....
