Hi everyone,
I'm currently calling myself an expecting mom since my family is in the process of adopting a cat from our local shelter. We lost Cindy, one of our beloved 11-year-old cats in February, due to an aggressive cancer. She was our first baby, and I was devastated, but had to make the decision to release her from the hopeless pain. But it was the least I could do for her after all the wonderful years of having her with us.
Now her (not biological) sister Emma is about to get a new sister - yesterday we met our new baby, 4-year-old Nellie, for the first time. She was rescued from an irresponsible home earlier this year, and we're hoping that her moving in with us will be the start of a beautiful frienship. There are some things the shelter must check before we can take her home, it might take a week or two. I'm hoping a new cat in the house, a new little life to care for, will give our whole family a special boost that I feel we really need after coping with our loss so far.
Please wish us luck!
