Subtitled: So much for the slow introduction method!

Well my best laid plans went awry. Went into the bedroom where Madeline is, to visit and give her fresh water, even though as far as I can tell she hasn't touched it. Leaving the bedroom, I was extra cafeful not to spill the full bowl and missed Franz slipping by. They are now both under the bed, not a hiss, spit or squable has been uttered. Well I'll keep an ear open, but getting Franz out from under the bed is a pretty hard task...and he just ate. I can't even fool with the microwave beeps!

Just a note of caution, I would keep them separate, at least until the diarrhea goes away. It could be a health issue causing the loose stools and that stands to reason that Frantz might also get sick.

Thanks Hissy...I did separate them again, once Franz meandered out from under the bed. So far, no more diarrhea, and she finally urinated in the pan. I'm just keeping dry available for her, for now...don't want to push it.

Hi Barbara, sounds as though Madeline is getting better.
Sweet little Franz making friends straight away too.
Once you can let them be together, when you are sure Madeline is OK, they are going to be best mates!
You are doing a great job.

Wow, Franz must be an absolute love! Quite the nurturer. I wish JC were like that. We still have a former neighborhood family's cat trying to move in with us. The family's former landlords have taken her in (she kept coming back, which was too dangerous), and they're now keeping her in the house at night, but every morning she shows up at our front door and cries to come in. Zsa Zsa is a little "dream", and looks like Jamie, and it breaks my heart when she begs to live with us. I've tried ignoring her, but she rubs herself against my legs every time she sees me outside, and follows my husband around while he's puttering in the garden. Jamie is incredibly nasty with her (actually, with any other cat). Franz sounds like a real treasure, and once Madeline gets a clean bill of health, the two will probably become inseparable. The family that fostered Jamie's mom and the litter has a male Maine Coon (a gorgeous, black 20-pounder) who is just like Franz - he was immediately the "kind uncle" to the kittens, two of whom remained in the household. The older females the family had were not at all happy about the kittens, but he played with them and groomed them.
