Cake

How come when you mix water & flour you get glue
-- and then you add eggs and sugar, and you get cake?
Where did the glue go?
Think about it.
There's a perfectly logical answer ....
....The glue is what makes the cake stick to your hips.

Should we remove the water or the flour, so that it doesn't stick? But then it wouldn't get fluffy would it....hmmmm....

Maybe we should remove the sugar...following the atkins theory of dieting. Replacing it with a sugar substitute, which is clearly labled to have a laxative effect in large quantities...then we wouldn't be able to eat too much cake, or if we did, our bodies wouldn't have a chance to process most of it....hmmmm

Perhaps then we should remove the egg, because that is against the vegan code of ethics? But then we could say that we are ignoring biology, because if people can and have survived on animal based diets for millenia, then surely an egg or two must have some nutritional value, so removing it would make the cake even less nutritional....hmmmmm?

My real question though is, if there is so many flaws with this simple recipe...why don't we just remove the whole recipe? Is that the moral of the story?

All this thinking, I think I need some cake.
