I admit that my apartment is really in need of painting. To make matters worse, the owners of the complex have been doing renovations on apartments that vacate: the one above me was done a while ago, as well as one on the same floor. So, I've also developed quite a few 'paint cracks' where the paint has pulled away from the wall. Razputin has now decided to go into the design business, by clawing the paint chips from the wall. Sigh. (He isn't eating it, have no fear, he is just scrapping it away with his claws.)

Guilty?

or Innocent?

Oh, sorry..that photo is from a few years ago. I happened to be working at a hospital at the time, and when I showed it to the ER director, she wanted to hook an antibiotic IV up in my office. (He bit me over a weekend.) We settled for a mega-loading dose of pills, and a tetanus shot. The brownishness is from an antiseptic wash.

I went out into the hall to throw some trash into the refuse chute, and when I came back in, Razpy had run into the corner by the door's hinge, and I caught his leg with the door. I was trying to free him up, and in my panic, pulled the door towards us instead of away from us, and put more pressure on his leg, and then he bit me, from his panic. (He was fine: no cut, no tenderness; he was just scared.)
I decided to do a bleach solution rinse: it stung, but I wasn't taking any chances.

A 10% bleach and water solution will kill almost any microbe. (During the post 9-11 anthrax scares in NYC, it was bleach that the HAZMAT people carried to spray on any potential anthrax find.) He bit me so deeply, I wasn't taking any chances with just hydrogen peroxide!

Poor little guy getting stuck like that. Em got his tail caught in my dresser drawer once when I was putting laundry away, he freaked out and I reopened the drawer ASAP, but he was upset, good thing he wasn't hurt. He keeps away from the drawers now when I'm opening and closing them.
