I didn't know cats lost their whiskers until Sam did, in fact I posted on here to find out if it was a normal occurance. It totally gave me the willies. Ive not found anymore since.
If I find one, I save it. I think that I only have 2 of them. I manged to find one of my Razpy's baby teeth and was quite excited about that.
My first ever!
I have 3 cats & I collect any whiskers of theirs that I find. I also put them in a little box. My sons laugh about it, but they already know I'm a bit weird. I just figured they were good luck or something. I never thought so many other people collected cat whiskers too. My mom says maybe I'm not so weird after all! :-)
Yes I do save one from each baby. I tuck them in my journal. I'm so glad I do, because I've lost a couple very close fur baby friends, and this way I keep a piece of them with me. I also take bits of their fur and put it in a tiny bottle, like the pic below, when one dies, before I bury them. It may seem creepy to some, but it's like a small memorial to them. Below is fur from my beloved friend Mouse, who was with me for 13 long years.
Yes it do.
I also make wooden cat figures that can hold real whiskers in the face.
I was thinking about selling the figures but don't know if other people would want a whisker display or not?
I find them here and there but haven't saved any. If they are good luck I might ought to start saving them! I'm with all the rest of you about the hair...I live in a cloud of hair it seems. I live such an adventurous life--vacuuming and scooping litter trays.
I will admit I kept a puff of my poor old doggie's fur I found after he passed. I was cleaning in the living room and found a puff of it where the vacuum didn't get to. I put it in a little container near his urn box. May seem weird to some, but it is kind of an awesome thing now for me to just see it and touch it occasionally. It might be a good thing for me to gather whiskers, to have when "one of these days" comes around.
