Hi, guys- looking for your help here!

Friend of mine is a Persian breeder and this weekend she'll go to pick up her three new breeder cats in South Carolina I think. And yestarday lady whos selling cats for her send her an e-mail saying that she've got retired breeder that been fixed and she will be more then happy to give it away for somebody for free! I am not sure if it is male or female and how old is it, but friend of mine told me that she would pick him up for me and bring him if I want another cat since it is such a great deal..So what should I do??????????????
I know Solomon would love to have buddy, but they are so different and persian will probably need soooooo much time I am just not sure if I am ready for that and can handle it... So, what do you think should I do?

If you are ready for a second cat and can afford the food and vet bills, I say go for it! Don't worry about their differences. Rejoice in them. Even if you were to have gotten siblings from the same litter, they would have been 2 different personalities.

As for the persian being more work, not really. I've had a Maine Coon cat and she needed brushing every couple days. My 2 boys are short hair and I brush them just as often now that the weather is warmer.

There are some great articles on TCS about introducing cats. Good luck!

Sandy

This is a problem, I don't think I can handle all vet bills, besides my boyfriend will go nuts..so I guess I just have to pass this GREAT DEAL... I hope persian will be re-homes soon...

Awww i know how you feel because i had the same sort of thoughts before i got my second kitten a couple of weeks ago.

I was terrified that i would lose Rosies affection if i got another cat, but after a lot of advice from the site as well as hard thinking i know i did the right thing.

Just read your reply!. Well at least your being sensible because you would have felt guilty afterwards.

Just give your other kitty twice the amount of affection.

We just found out that my boyfriend has an allergy - so... One cat is fine, we are going to work on allergy free zones and staff like that, but two cats, my boyfriend just told me I am nuts and if I'll get one more cat I will have to live with them by myself...
Mean boy!!!! Afterall I really don't think that getting a second cat for myself RIGHT NOW is a good idea..I'll probably get a baby ( real one) next!!!! Then MY OWN house, and then....lots and lots and lots of cats!!!!!
I am probably nuts, but I have a dream- to build my own house...for cats! Just for cats- where I'll be most of the time!!!! Also, please, let me know if any of ya interested in getting persian ( retired ) I can get you more info and you will help me save his life!!!!
