Hi All -

Wendy Erskine of Wendy's Feline Friends just called to put in a special plea
for support for the coming months. She just paid her taxes (annual &
estimated), and the cupboard is bare as kitten season hits full stride. There is
a
PayPal link on her Website (http://felinefriends.petfinder.org) for
tax-deductible
credit card/Pay Pal donations, and she can receive checks and hardgood
donations at Wendy's Feline Friends, 1228 Holly Vista Drive, Colonial Beach, VA
22443. She feeds Iams, uses clumping litter, and collects aluminum. Her
newsletter
posted to the Files section includes a full wish list.

For those in the area, she will hold her monthly fundraiser yard sale this
Saturday, May 8th, at her house (1228 Holly Vista Dr - I can send directions if
you need them).

Thanks for any help you can offer to the unofficial cat shelter for the
county!

Wendy of Wendy's Feline Friends just called to say that one of her
dehumifiers just died. She desperately needs these since she lives just a
couple blocks
from the Potomac River and frequently has water in her basement (such as
after
last Friday's terrible T-storms - which knocked out power in her neighborhood
until Sat afternoon). She has one working unit, but really needs 3 or 4 so
her porch and kitten sheds can be kept dry as well. Used but working units
are
fine - she usually has these sorts of items donated when someone buys a new
or
larger version for home use.

Wendy is completely broke right now and had been counting on a large yard
sale this past Saturday to raise some needed cash. With the storm & the flood
&
the power outage, that plan was washed away. I know this is the shelter list,
which means dogs, but Wendy is the shetler equivalent for cats ... and she's
beginning to wonder if she can make it after a long series of set backs this
year. If she closes shop, the cats & kittens in Westmoreland have NO WHERE to
go.
So ... thanks for getting the word out about her needs online. I'll be
putting an article in the local paper this week, and she got the community
cable
station to put a little bulletin on their text announcements screen.
