I have been playing around with the idea lately of volunteering at either the Humane Society or a place here called Safe Shelter. I really want to help out in some way. The problem is this.... I can't even go into the humane society without leaving in tears, and even at Petsmart this weekend, they had kitty adoption day and I couldn't even walk past the cages because I can't handle seeing them all without homes. I remember when I was a kid I used to try and bring home strays all the time. Mom and Dad couldn't afford the cost of taking care of the animals and so Dad usually ended up taking them and dropping them off at the Humane Society How do you deal with the diffuculty of knowing these poor animals don't have a home and not let it overcome you, so that you can volunteer and not leave in tears?
