Ok.... good news:

I am finally feeling alive again. I had gone through a heavy depression (most of you already know). The first two weeks were hell. But the third which is now ending, has been getting better and better. I saw the doctor today. He says I am well under way to it being 100% under control and says I can start with my everyday stuff such as schoolwork. Due to those changes it was found out my proper dose was 25 mg of Zoloft and I am now in the new dose.

I am feeling human again, and energetic.

Ok.... bad news:

The doctor, after seeing my bloodwork said that I could possibly have some inflamation of the liver. He wants me to take another blood test fasting.

Vicky called me a few minutes ago. She also was at the doctor's office today. She took a series of blood tests. The results are not pretty.

In the glucose tolerance test, she turned at first 85, an hour later after the comsuption of sugar, 55, and three hours later, 86. Although the doctor says it not nescesarily could be hypoglicemia (sp) there's a shadow of doubt.

Her hemoglobin is rock bottom. She had been so pale I had even said sme time ago she looked yellowish... well you guessed it: anemia.

She also has something called in Spanish "hypotyroide" (sp) which basically consists of low thyroid levels. Which explains why she is never capable of going into a sucessful diet.

She's even gonna have to go to the endocrinologist.

I arranged to meet her tomorrow morning.... but her spirits are rock bottom at this instant.

So glad about your good news Victor. You are in good hands with your Doctor and the blood work...hang in!!!
All my best to Vicky, hypothyroidism is common, not sure how common in young girls, but she will be fine. Both of you will be good support for each other!

So good to hear you are feeling better Victor but don't be tempted to stop taking the tablets or else you will be back at square one, you are going to need them for a while. Sorry about Vicky, Sending her hugs and good vibes.

Victor, it's wonderful that you are feeling better!

Luckily for Vicky, everything you mentioned can be fixed with diet and/or medication. I'm sure she'll be fine. Tell her everyone here is pulling for her!

Hi Victor, so glad you're feeling better - it's a wonder what a couple of little pills every day can do.
I'm hoping Vicky feels better soon too. I have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) and have been on meds for it since I was 18. It's a very easy thing to fix and once the dose is right and her blood sugar and anaemia are fixed, she'll be feeling a lot better.

Thanks a million everyone.

Sorry for that one, but I guess I overreacted when Vicky gave me that. You just go into panic mode.

She's calmer about it, but not too happy. She at least is understanding that it can be taken care of. Anyway, I will meet her this afternoon.

As for the depression - trust me, the Zoloft is becoming best thing on earth for me. Unless my doctor says otherwise I ain't off of them.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Victor. Please tell Vicky that hypothyroidism is not a big deal. She'll have to go through a few noninvasive tests at a radiologist's office, and it sometimes takes a while to get the dosage right, but after that it's a matter of swallowing a small pill every morning and getting the above-mentioned tests every year or two.

Glad your feeling better. Did they say what type of anemia it was? In a girl her age it could just be a simple iron deficency problem. Well anyway, best of luck with that.

Peace,
Brandon

It's iron deficiency anemia. I was with her today.... what a day.

We went on a shopping spree to Las Catalinas Mall. All alone with her. a few hundred dollars were gone after we finished, but there are new wrist watches, jackets, exercise equipment, electronics, blah blah. And pure kidding and joking.

After that we were gone to my house, and spent a while there.

And in the end we had dinner at the pizzeria where an entire mushroom peperoni pizza and several coke bottles went awash while talking and enjoying the talk.

You can tell we are party animals.
And very wild indeed. I think this is the best day I've had in many months.

Ok.... today I woke up... willing to do a backflip (hmm... no, bad idea). I had a wild day (wild in every sense of the word... even the more adult meanings
) with Vicky yesterday which I enjoyed to the max. That's by far the best therapy on earth. Spending such a day.

But I woke up just alive.... wanting to embrace the day. I think I want to dance all the way to the Moon. I just feel alive again. Its a feeling I've not had (at least not like this) in a loooong time. I feel so energetic that if I threw away some energy I couldn't run out of it. Vicky confirmed that yesterday.

VÃ:censor:ctor's back in the game.
I am in!

Yeah Baby!

Victor-
I am glad to see you feeling so much better

I think it's just the way life works sometimes. Things do get bad sometimes, and sometimes really bad, but somehow it always gets better. When you go through the rough times just try to remember how you feel right now and know that you will feel this way again, that's the way it always works out.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I've been hypoglycemic and hypothyroid since I was 20 and it's not that bad. I have to be careful and I have a lot of blood draws, but those are both controllable issues. Anemia can also be controlled, but you have to be more careful with it usually.

I hope both of you are doing well.
