I've been meaning to post this question for a while..but was only reminded today, since Franz is sunning himself in the bedroom window. I've never seen Franz "get excited" over the wildlife in my backyard--I'm on the first floor of a Brownstone, so it's a slightly elevated, perfect view. I have sparrows, mourning doves, pigeons and an occasionally blue jays and cardinals. Of course there are plently of squirrels as well. Yes, not only does A Tree Grow in Brooklyn, but wildlife as well! Franz looks out the window, but never chirps or trills over them. My two other cats from years ago, practically salivated over them. Do some cat just don't give a fig about birds/squirrels???????????

Yep, some cats don't give a fig about them. I have 3 cats and 11 birds - one looooves to watch the little ones, 1 will give the small ones a look or two, the other - well he could have a bird walk across him and he would just give a mild look as if to say "Was that really necessary?"

I once had a cat called Blondie who was half Siamese. She had one blue eye and one green eye. She would sit in our garden and let the willy wagtails dance all around her, and not a twitch from her.
