Hello. I would like to get a book that has a lot of information on cats- behavior, illnesses, symptoms, etc so I can understand more of what is going on with cats but I have a hard time finding a book that I feel is very informative sooo..

Any book you'd recommend for me to buy??

I would also be very interested in an "all purpose" type book on cat care, especially with my new family of four, now almost 2 weeks old.

Annes site always gives me the answers I need, but sometimes I need a speedier response, and a book would be great!

The book shop on this site:
http://www.thecatsite.com/shop/index.html

Has a wide selecetion. Several books have a special book review which I have written. I can personally testify for these and for the others you can see the reviews at Amazon.

My favorites and the two books I look into most often:

Cat Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook
Review: http://www.thecatsite.com/shop/review03.html
Invaluable for all health issues but some may find it too "deep"

Think Like A Cat
Review: http://www.thecatsite.com/shop/review06.html
Excellent for behavior as well as for general cat care. Very informative! All text no pics but very easy to read.

You may want to check out others as well. The Complete Guide To Kitten Care (http://www.thecatsite.com/shop/review05.html) is one that I would recommend for most first time cat owners. It's very informative and very nice on the eyes too.

I have TONS of books on cats. The best two that I've gotten are Cornell Book of Cats and the Cat Owner's Home Care Veterinary Handbook. I got one on sale the other day at Barnes & Noble for $7.99. I'll let you know what it is when I get home.

One more book that I like is "The Cat Who Cried for Help".

The Cornell book is excellent and I actually read it like a novel
However, it is rather heavy as the articles are long and very scientific. It's not as useful as the other one for general reference when you're looking for something specific.

The book I just got at Borders is "The Complete Encyclopedia of Cats". Great book. Everything from choosing a cat, to cat care to diseases. Everything!
