War is hell. These things happen. Are they right? No, but this is war! One must destroy the enemy and his resolve to fight anyway he can. Aren't the Iraqis killing American troops with bombs everyday all with the idea of destroying the resolve of the American people to stay with this war? Who feeds this anti-Americanism? Anti-Bush newsmedia such as "BBC On Line", "CNN", and anti-American newspapers such as "Al-Jazeera", not to mention traitorous rhetoric from some very leftist American senators, Ted Kennedy being one ot them.
I've know a few men who had seen active service in various wars, and none of them spout or spouted the 'war is hell, women and children must die routine' that runs through your posts. Frankly, most of them did not even want to talk about their war time activities to any great extent.
Also, according to an article in today's NY Times, these photographs were first shown to the General in charge of the command in January 2004. That predates the contractor atrocities.
To try to 'explain' why they did this in the way that you keep trying to do dishonors America.
