Alright, I'm moving . . . have I forgotten anything? (For the cat, that is . . . )

(I'm sure I've forgotten something about moving in general, lol!) This is my first time moving with Luna, unless you count the time I brought her home. Here's the plan, please tell me if there's any problems:

I'm moving from a two-bedroom apartment across town to a one-bedroom apartment; my guyfriends are helping me move. Her litter box, food bowl, and water bowl are all in the master bathroom, which is the most secluded room in the apartment. It was where I put her when I brought her home for the first time, so it's like her "safe place". I'm planning on packing the bathroom up completely and leaving only her, her stuff, and a nice cushy bed, stuck inside her carrier, in the bathroom on moving day. (Since she's an inside-only cat, and the front door will have to be left open to move the furniture out, she has to be confined.) Anyway, I'll stick a sign on the door threatening the castration of anyone who opens it. (This is possible since there is a hall bathroom.)

I'm planning on leaving her there the whole time we're moving. Once the whole move is finished and the new apartment is set-up, then I'll go back last thing and get her and her stuff and bring her down to the new apartment. I'm going to do the same thing I did when I brought her home as a kitten: lock her up in the bathroom the first day or so, to let her get used to it. This will also give me time to finish unpacking and make sure everything is "cat proof." Then I'll slowly introduce her to the new apartment the regular way. Is this a good plan? I'm trying to do the best I can to take care of my "child".
Just wanted to see if anyone who has experience with this has anything to add? Thanks!

Leave her a nice smelly sweat shirt of sneaker of yours to keep her calm, and when you do move her from the bathroom to the house, do so in stages so it isn't so overwhelming.

I am moving this to the Care forum, and if you do a search for moving with cat you will find a lot of threads in that forum that will give you more tips
