Thank you, Heidi for the perfectly vivid account of Heidi's delivery of these four adorable babies!
I almost feel as if I was there! Thanks for the honorary aunt status!
You're showing such love in imagining the joy that will be brought into the lives of the fortunate future families of the kittens.

Sorry if anyone was too grossed out by my description of the birth hehe Nobody said the miracle of life wasn't a little yucky

Nate helped me snap a few pictures of the kittens today as I was changing the bedding. I also tried to sex them before our vet visit tomorrow to see if I can guess correctly or not.

Here are the closeups. I think I got them in the right order heheh the middle two are confusing, one is just slightly darker than the other
The photos are a little blurry but it was the best I could do with <24 hour old kittens and a protective mommy.

1st born - cream tabby (buff/beige) - boy

2nd born - red tabby (medium orange) - boy

3rd born - red tabby (darker orange) - boy

4th born - black tabby (gray/brown) - girl

Congrats Heidi! Your little beige guy looks just like my little beige girl! They are cute aren't they? I am trying not to get attached to my babies either, but I know it's going to happen. I think we might keep one or two to keep mommy company

Congrats on the beautiful new additional if temprorary additions to your homes.

Good to know that everything went okay after that scary start...this story makes me so glad that I've always had fixed cats cause I can only imagine what a nervous wreck I'd be if it was my kitty going through that.

I really do need to stay away from the kitten threads...everytime I see one I want one.

Well Lola, the brood, and I just arrived back from their first checkup. The kittens got a clean bill of health and a lot of kisses from the vet. She said I made her day by bringing them in because so many people are "getting their cats spayed and neutered" so they aren't bringing as many kittens in for checkups. Well um isn't that the point? hehe

I'm glad everyone appears to be healthy. It's a little less worry for me (although I'm going to keep a very close eye on them to make sure they stay that way). Hopefully the remainder of the process will be an easy one

Oh, and according to the vet I was right when I sexed the kittens....3 boys, 1 girl (and she didn't believe me that one of the red tabbies was lighter than the other hehe)

I've been looking forward to this update! What a relief that mom and babies are all in perfect health after the difficult delivery!
Good work, Heidi and Lola! Please continue with the updates and pictures! btw, one of the red tabbies is clearly lighter than the other!

I knew she was having four.
The brown tabby is really cute and so is the cream tabby. Congrats- the process sounded like it went really smoothly. I agree please continue with the updates and pictures.

I wanted to include a couple of more photos I took of the kittens over the weekend. As of Tuesday they will be officially one week old and I'll start a new thread of photos
hehe

It just amazes me how much cuter these little buggers get every day!

Enjoy

~Heidi
