So far out in left field I got lost
Hi everbody
I just wanted to let you all know that the surgery went well. Iv'e been asleep solid for the past two days, from the pain meds. The Dr. told me that all looked good no cancer was present, but the Uthera(sp) was almost completely closed the only opening was about the size of a pin head for urine to pass through.

The Dr. said that this has been going on for a number of years and couldn't fiqure out why all the other doctors that I have gone to didn't find it. Gee I wonder if it was due to the fact that I didn't have insurance at the time and they didn't want to bother with it?

Wow my clothes aren't cutting into me now I don't know for sure just yet but it feels like I have lost 10 or more lbs from fluid build up in my body. The Sammycat and Oscar have been so sweet and they both want to lay by my side or somewhere touching me. I guess they know that something is'nt quite right with Momma

I am glad you are doing okay and thankful that they found the source of your problem. Enjoy the cuddle time with the kitties and get some rest!

Congrats on finding the problem. I'm glad you're feeling better.

You could be on to something about the lack of insurance and the lack of a diognosis. I know that seemed to be the case with me. About 10 years ago, I had been really sick for about a month, totally unable to eat, and alternately running high fevers. Finally, in mid May my sister convinced me to go to the E R, and the doctor there asked me if I had insurance, and when I didn't, he quickly told me there was really nothing wrong with me, and basically sent me on my way, telling me to come back when I had insurance to have some tests, if the problem still continued. A week and a half later, I was back in the hospital, as a patient with a perforated ulcer. It nearly killed me.

Glad you made it through your surgery Cathi! It's really too bad it took so long for them to figure it out, but at least it is taken care of now.

Funny, when Earl had pneumonia last year and we went to the ER with no isurance for him, they were more than happy to run tests and charge us close to $2500 to tell us the same thing our regular Dr. had told us the day before (for about $100) - that he had pneumonia!

I'm glad you're feeling better - must be great not to feel bloated anymore.

I'm always amazed how people need to go without proper medical care just because it's so expensive. It's a shame. I'm glad things are different here in that respect.

Still hurting but that I have been dealing with for a really long time, so nothing new there. As long as I don't get any more UTIs I will be happy
