Hello my fellow Canucks...

I sort of had this urge to start a thread for Canadians.. just to see how many of us there are.. where we are from.. what we are up to in our areas.. the politics.. HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA.. ( no Ottawa fans allowed
) and all the fun stuff.. like our Canadian cats.. whatever.. I guess I can start..

I'm from northern British Columbia originally, I was born in Vancouver, but moved there when I was little babe.. I moved to eastern Canada three years to go to school and now I feel like an honourary Ontarian.. and I have adopted the Maple Leafs as my new home team ( Vancouver broke my hear) and I am an avid CBC radio listener! I grew up with it my whole life
I haven't been to the east coast at all!! I went across westerner Canada on the VIA train route which is awesome! you should all go..

aren't I nerdy for starting this thread? I don't even really like the idea of nationalism.. but I am curious to know..

Hi there, I'm Kristen, and I'm from near Peterborough Ontario.
I was born and raised about 3 kms from where I live now( I know it's kinda sad, LOL)

Anyway, I have a cat, a dog, a horse, a donkey, a goat, and am looking into getting another horse.
Sorry to say I'm not much of an NHL fan. I do go to come local OHL games though, and I went to a Sens game last Christmas for my boyfriend's work Christmas party. That was fun...

I was born here in Saskatchewan but moved to Ontario to where my dads family had immigrated to from England, we lived in Dorset untill I was 11 then moved to Richmond Hill, ON and Toronto, moved to Albany NY for 2 months when I was 12 and then moved back here to Sasktachewan. We lived with my grandparents for a year then moved to Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta where we lived for a year then back to Shellbrook for a while then to Saskatoon, SK for 3.5 years then back to Shellbrook where I've been for 5.5 years now.

...But I love Canada! Great National Anthem, Love that Canadian Bacon
Love how the Canadian Gov and it's people are more opened minded about gay and lesbian marriage and great actors and comedians! And one night when I get good and sloshed on Canada Dry gingerale, I'm gonna post and pretend I'm a Canadian!...burp, burp

I was born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia. I have lived here my whole life and have always loved cats. I am doing my own feral rescue and currently have 5 kitties living in my house. I cannot believe that the Canucks lost! I cried and now everytime I hear "Oh Canada" I get sad!

I was born in Brandon Manitoba and have lived in Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver and now Ladner BC (burb south of Vancouver) I have to say of all the places I've lived, BC is the best although the most expensive.

I'm owned by Gus my 12 year old Tabby who is fighting cancer since last August. I also have a Quaker Parrot who keeps me busier than a baby would. My hubby has a 75 gallon saltwater aquarium so we're kept very busy with the high maintenance animals. I would love another kitty or 2 but Gus has always been the terminator when it comes to other cats.

It's nice to see that there's so many Canadians here.

Hello my fellow CATadians! I am Adrienne and I was born and raised in Toronto. Other then a year in Windsor I have been a Toronto girl my whole life. I love Canada and I love being Canadian. Hockey is OK, but I am an AVID lacrosse fan. (GO ROCK GO!) I am married with 5 cats and unfortunately no kids. My parents and sister's family live outside Kitchener Ontario, so I don't get to see them often.

Thanks for starting a Canadian thread!

I'm Canadian too!!! I was also born in BC - Victoria to be exact. I've lived in Victoria, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Waterloo. I'm in Toronto now although I'd so much rather be in Ottawa. I just consider myself an Ottawa girl (lived there the longest).

I can't believe you stopped cheering for the Canucks to cheer for the horrid Leafs?!
Man oh man! I used to be a huge Jets fan but once they left I was teamless (I'd cheer for the 'Nucks and Habs mostly) until the Sens came back. Now I'm the biggest (and saddest right now
) Sens fan (one of the main reasons I'd rather be in Ottawa right now)! I'm really into hockey but I can't say I'm a fan of HNIC. It's way too Leafs biased... pretty sickening to watch if you're not a Leafs fan. But yep I'm definitely a Canadian girl. Eh?

Wow.. we all come out from behind the rocks.. I am from Prince George ,BC orginally.. so when I watched that Vancouver hockey game.. I was on the phone from Ontario to my brother in BC and we are watching the seconds counting down and they score in the last 5.7 seconds.. I yelled.. "THERE IS A GOD!!!!!" and I thought my broken Canucks heart would be mended.. and they lost.. I was so upset.. it was like reliving 1994 all over again... but Toronto is my adopted home team so I am hoping for them now..

I gotta say.. I do love being Canada sometimes.. when I watch Redgreen, or eat my Canadian bacon, or realize that I am from BC, one of the most beautiful places in the world, or getting on the VIA train, or our government and everything... I really like Ontario though.. never thought I would considering I am from BC.. I am hoping to head to Montreal for the first time this summer....

he he he.. yeah.. it is totally Toronto.. I can understand that rage.. I had to stay up late the last three weeks watching Vancouver because it was western conference and like NOBODY cared around here... sometimes I think hockey loyalty is pretty random.. Vancouver I have been watching since I was like 10 and a boyfriend of mine a couple years ago was from Toronto and so we watched the Leafs games all the time and I got sucked in.. my good friend from Ottawa was so upset with game 7, since Ottawa always gets beaten. I have sympathy being a soul fan to Vancouver.

Yeah after that game I totally avoided hockey until I found out the score from the Philly-TO game last night. Then I was happier.
I'm really cheering for Calgary and Montreal. How cool would it be (extremely unlikely though) if it was a Flames-Habs Cup finals? It's too bad the best chances for Canada were both eliminated in the first round. (I really think the Leafs are too old).

Anyway I'm hijacking this thread.
I'll try to stop.

Come on people - LACROSSE!

Aren't Canadian TV shows the best. We have a weird sense of humour. I just love the new show Corner Gas. I laugh the whole show. I still miss Rick Mercer on This Hour Has 22 Minutes - it just isn't the same without him.

I've only seen Corner Gas twice and loved it but can't seem to find in now. When is it on? You know what else I enjoyed is the "Quest" shows that were on the history channel. Has anyone seen those?? Pioneer Quest and Quest for the Bay, there were others but I can't remember them. I have to say I'm not a hockey fan, does that make me un-Canadian?

I was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. I pretty much lived here all my life, except for one year in Toronto for college. I do want to move back to the GTA again. I like it down there.

Canadian shows that are a must to watch: Chilly Beach. The littlest Hobo. (I catch this every now and then and its so cheezy I have to sit and watch the whole thing)

I'm in Mississauga , Ont. Been here for 5, maybe 6 years now. I was born in Orangeville, but have been in and out of the country. I like it here, hopefully I won't have to move again!

Canadian here too. And one of my pet peeves is the way "canadian bacon" is talked about. The stuff you get in the US is not bacon, its ham. What we mean by "canadian bacon" is peameal bacon, or back bacon, not that silly ham stuff. Except that we don't call it Canadian bacon here, because, after all, all bacon sold in Canada is kind of Canadian.

Another pet peeve is that we don't say "aboot". Well, maybe some people in Niagara Falls and Welland do, but not the rest of us.

Anyway, born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, high school in Toronto, lived a couple of years in The States (you know we don't call it America, like the rest of the world seems to), now back to Hamilton which is really home now.

I love Rick Mercer, The Newsroom, City TV, Red Green (He's from Hamilton, you know), and I really really reall don't like hockey, especially when its still on after baseball season starts.

But I do like beer, eh.

Dana, I personally don't know anyone who won't go to the States because they think it's full of killers or are afraid of a terror attack. I wouldn't say that's a common fear. I think that's pretty funny actually!
(No offense intended, I think it's funny in a cute way)
