HI I have 3 indoor cats, zeus(2), Hera(2) and Cleo(1). Since Thursday Cleo has been having very loose stools, and has stopped using the litter box all together. Monday I took her to the Vet. and was given antibiotics because Cleo has a temp. Today we went back for a re-check of the temp. and it has not gone down. so the vet. changed medicines ( she gave her something for soft stools) and recomended a blood test. I did not have the blood test because I pay by cash and was told it cost $110. Is this correct? I couldn't believe for a blood test it cost more than a persons. I do not live in a big city, I live in La. and before I am asked I have 3 litter boxes that are very clean, and nothing new has happened in my cats lives. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. cat.

I'm sooo sorry Cleo's not feeling well! Poor kitty. Is there any way you can talk to the vet about a payment schedule? If you've been a good customer they should be able to work with you to get Cleo the diagnosis and the meds she needs and allow you to pay it off over time. I know you want to do everything you can to get her well again, and the vet should be willing to do the same, which is why he suggested the blood test. Sending healing vibes your way!!! Depending on what blood test they want to do, it can get expensive. Did they already send a fecal sample to a lab?

I hope Cleo gets better soon. Poor baby.

What kind of blood test is it? The minimum blood test can vary alot, but the minimum I do is a complete blood test on both mine and it costs around $80-$110. US dollars depending on what they test for.
