Samwise the Sad

Here Samwise is at his worst, unable to groom himself or be groomed, and showing his displeasure at having to wear the sock. Poor Samwise.

We told him that we are confident that all of TCS is sending good vibes his way via cyberspace.

In the unlikely event that there may be one of you out there who has not heard enough from us about Turkish Van cats lately, one of our super TCS friends sent us this link to a news article about the Vans out of Turkey. We owe the continuation of this marvelous breed to a very few dedicated breeders around the world.

All the very best to our new friends,

Hi, Tamme. He has not caused his boo boo to bleed since Jim put the sock on him. It was definitely the right thing to do, but Samwise is venting his ire on us by going out of his way to be naughty if he sees we are watching him. He is an imp! The Turkish Van is unbelievably agile and unbelievably strong. Together these traits are disastrous when he is upset.

What a handsome boy Samwise is. Sending Samwise fast healing vibes so he'll once again be the dignified cat that he truly is.

That sock should give his booboo a chance to heal in peace. Lotsa healing vibes coming his way. Meanwhile, one can see the wheels turning -- "What ELSE can I do to point out that WE ARE NOT AMUSED??"

Is Samwise the cat that gets bathed in "gook" or "gunk" or "goop" or something like that? I wonder if that may have caused his sore? What do you think, If I have the right cat.

You have the right cat, I'm sure I read that one of his littermates scratched him playing and he won't leave it alone to heal up.

Awwww poor old Samwise, he looks thoroughly fed up

Yes, Samwise bathes in "goop," but his wound happened a couple of weeks ago. One of his dumb brothers apparently though Samwise was a female, and he tried to mate with him, in the process biting him on the neck, as male cats will do when mating.

Samwise appears to be only slightly smarter than his brother.

Sometimes you have to choose between looks and brains -- and he sure is a handsome fellow -- a sweetie, too, I'll bet!

Don't worry Samwise - the indignite sock on your neck will come off soon enough. {{HUGS}}}

He still looks stunning with the sock on.
