A mystery for Samwise

Samwise is a handsome fellow, but we sometimes wonder how smart he is.

Here he looks up at us with a brilliant expression on his face, "What is this," he says. I don't understand. It smells like a cat, but it looks like a lump in Mom's quilt."

Indeed, that was Miss Kitty under the quilt -- her hideaway, where she goes for privacy.

All the best,

Perhaps before long his curiosity will get the better of him and he'll poke the "lump". I suspect he'll get a surprise if he does. But then he's not the only one who'll get a surprise

So very true! He finally ventured a paw onto the lump. The result almost caused three heart attacks -- Samwise, Miss Kitty and Ann!

That's funny! Jack loves to hide under the covers too but Solaman doesn't really care to find him or even wonder where he has gone.

Fran,

If you had been a fly on the wall you would have had two insane kitties chasing you from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. That is not a safe thing to be in this house.

Lovely part of the world way up there in BC. We passed through twice on our way to and from Alaska via the ferry out of Prince Rupert. A rare part of our globe you have up there! Keep it the way it is and don't let it be ruined by the heartless foresters we import from the southern 48.

Best regards,

Touche! I should have known better, given the antics caused in this house by flying things!! Earlier this afternoon, I thought Cindy was going to launch herself through the window from a 4-inch sill to get the [whatever] she was after!

It is lovely. I adore this place. And I do hope we can preserve it, despite the "heartless foresters" and other shortsighted individuals and bodies. There has to be a balance among the various interests -- the difficulty is finding and recognizing it -- and then having the corporate gumption to go with it.

Thanks for your appreciation.
