Ok, she is not a cat, but I still loved her.

Her name was Starlight. Her original name was Sugar Bars. She was a registered Quarter horse and an ex-race horse. I renamed her Starlight because of the markings on her forehead. She was my friend and companion growing up.

I used to go out for night rides. (My parents were clueless, they never knew.) We would go out about 11:00 p.m. After about an hour we would come back. There was a route we would take. When we reached a certain spot I would let the reins loose and she would take off at a full gallop. We went up a hill, down a steep grade into a canyon, through the canyon and up the other side. This was a night, at a full gallop and bareback. I think my Guardian Angel went on strike, because she was kicked by another horse which cracked her knee cap. That put an end to our night rides.

She was sold when I went to college. Unless horses live for fifty years she is waiting for me. I told Jesus, that if he is nice to her, he could ride her. I miss her.

She's beautiful.
Animals have a way of touching our lives in ways we will never forget. I'm sure she is watching you, maybe even making sure you are safe like she did all those years ago on those midnight ride.

Horses are the greatest teachers. They lead us to find courage, motivate us to learn patience, and help us reach within ourselves and truly make us a better person.

Since Jesus is the Lord of Love, I am sure He has enjoyed many a ride on her and will hand over the reins to you when your time comes to ride her.

Goblin - Horses are such wonderful animals, Starlight sounds like she was one of the best. Just think of all the midnight rides you'll have with her and the love you'll share again when you are one day reunited.

Starlight doesn't look very tall in the pictures, were they taken when she was young? Or is that as big as quarter horses get?
