Trouble with Search Option

I think the new site looks great, however, I have trouble searching. For example, I just put in a search for "litter" and found only 16 replies, none of which litter was the "main" topic. I know there WAS lots of info on litter before...just can find it. This has happened with other searches as well. I tryed advanced search and searching by forum...no luck. Is this just a bug that has to be ironed out?

Maybe try to broaden your search a little. What specifically are you looking for? What about litter do you want to find?

I don't think it's a bug, because I just did a search for "litter" and came up with 18 topics. It's probably just too vague.

I'm having trouble using the 'search' page too. If I search by user name it works great, but if I want to search using the name of the thread it doesn't work.

I couldn't get it to work either. I was looking for a post that I posted in health and nutrition and couldn't get it to come up. I tried by my name, and by the exact name of the post too.

I thought I could fix it by "checking of" posts from"beginning" but still no luck. There were hundreds of threads re: litter and now it's down to about 20 results? What gives?

Looks like I need to re-index the threads for the search engine to work properly. It's best to do that while the forums are offline. So sometime during the weekend, when it's the middle of the night in the US, I will have to close the board and re-index everything. Could take anything between 10 minutes and a couple of hourse - but it has to be done.

Thanks Anne, I was begining to think it was just me...

I'm a born "searcher" could search back to infinity!

Thanks, Anne. I, too, was trying to do a search the other night on my original old thread where I asked for input on new smilies. I never was able to get the search engine to find the thread.
