I had taken in a pregnant stray female. She was too pregnant to have her fixed. She had six kittens on March 16th. When I came home from work on the 19th there was a seventh.
I work with an organization called Halt. I had gotten a call on Saturday, April 10th, to help a man who had been feeding a stray. She had 4 kittens. Something happened to her. (Most likely coyotes.) They cried their heads of when I went to pick them up. They are about a week older then my strays kittens. (3 weeks). I put them down in my bedroom and she took them in. I took about 4 hours before the kittens realized that they had a new mom. I returned from work today and they didn't cry for me. They have accepted her. My stray, Persephone, is now nursing 11 kittens. No longer the bringer of destruction, but life. What a wonderful Easter.
