hello, my cat tobi has been sctatching at his cheeks for some time now as tho he can't get the itch out. He is not hurting himself nor is he infected, hurt,or flea ridden. he is constantly rubbing his head on everything. I put some cloth tape around the faucet in the bathroom sink(thats his second bed).
why does he do this ?

Is he doing it more than a 'normal' cat in your opinion? I'm no expert, but I read that cats do this all the time as a way of putting their sent on things. I always thought mine was "scratching" his face too but apparently it's an instinct thing.

....let's let the experts give you more info though!

This could be a problem with Tobi's ear or ears, particularly if the scratching is at the upper part of the cheek. This might be worth a vet-check. We had a similar situation and some ear medication appeared to clear it up.

Cheers,

Ann, with Jim, Samwise and Miss Kitty, on a Texas beach
